why aren't the chapters 6 to 9 uploaded??

Seeing as it's labelled "abandoned" I'd hazard a guess that the scanlator whose scans were getting uploaded here stopped translating it and those other chapters are by a completely different group whose work never made it here or was prevented from being uploaded here.

Yuri Project is more just a board than a group. You're welcome to use Phyis' scans (through volume 2 is scanned) and my translations. Seira is welcome to contribute as well. I don't really care who's involved or what name it's released under as long as the translations are accurate and it looks decent.

Sounds like that might be the best choice overall then, at least up until the end of volume two. (I'm assuming there's three or maybe four volumes if there's ~8 chapters left.)

The project has been sitting there for a year waiting for someone to work on it.

I am willing to come out of retirement to prevent the previous translator from releasing any further chapters of the Tovarisch series.

edit: I should clarify the sources of my grievances as you would have no way of being aware of them. The Half-ass Scan group stole AnonT's translations, sometimes verbatim, without any indication that another translation had been consulted. It also showed insufficient respect for the original author by providing inaccurate and unvetted translations of her work. Unless things have changed there significantly I recommend against working with that group.

I'm not entirely sure I follow what you mean. Is Seira part of that group you mentioned or something? And to be clear my offer doesn't just stand only for Seira anyways. If Yuri Project could deal with the translation itself and the typesetting I can do the cleaning. I don't think I've looked at Comprehensive Tovarisch over there in particular but I've looked at their discussion stuff and I never did offer to help at all or anything simply because it seems a lot more decentralized than a group like Kawaii so I wasn't sure how things worked over there at all.

Oh man, must've been a comment from long ago then. I've just graduated from high school (early grad, woohoo), so now I've got a lot of time on my hands lately. If you're willing to do it, that would be wonderful. No rush for the job either, I'd be fine waiting a while in between chapters. There are only a couple left anyway (like, 8? If people want the last chapter to be redone in better quality).

Nah, it was a comment I made about a half hour before the one here. But yeah, I'm up for doing the cleaning and redrawing, especially if it's only going to be 8 chapters or so. You can email me at Onyx_Alpha3173(at)Yahoo.com if you want to discuss things further. If you want examples of my work this is the only one currently released. (I can share some more recent examples through email if you'd like to see them.) And that's the first chapter I ever cleaned actually. My work since then is quite a bit better.

I already made a post about this in the Comprehensive Tovarisch thread where someone quoted you but if you can't find someone else to deal with the cleaning and redrawing I can do it between cleaning chapters for Kawaii Scans.

I have all 3 tanks and read through all of them. I did the final chapter under the name of Halfass Scans, which were LQ scans for people who wanted to rush to the ending.

I lost interest in translating because I wasn't willing to destroy my precious books and no other raws were out at the time. Plus, I severely lacked editing skills and drawing skills, so I couldn't make anything out of it... so I gave up.

Nowadays, I'm less concerned about these damn books, but there are plenty of raws online I think. If anyone wants to edit or redraw it, I can do the translation and typesetting.

Someone please pick this project up again <3

If it's just redrawing and such that's needed I could probably work on it between cleaning chapters for Kawaii Scans if nobody else shows interest in it.

A small problem I noticed, Last Post is not working again, just take to last page of the thread, besides that I didn't see any other problems yet, but I didn't use it much so maybe I just missed it, I'll try to find others later.

Oh, whoops. This was something I completely overlooked, lol. When I removed my function that inserted post links I forgot to account for that in the last post button's function so that function now fails to retrieve the anchor for the last post. I was already intending to fix up the last post button next anyways so I'll fix it when I go to do that.

Oh, so this is what that cover art is from. I'm kinda disappointed it's this short and doesn't really go anywhere.

It's only a minor update because I'm not actually feeling that great lately and still wanted to at least get some work done on it but I just updated the script to for a few things:

I removed post links function since there is a proper one implemented on Dynasty now, changed quick quote code to be a bit more readable and easy to understand (this isn't something that affects the end user, I just found a better way of handling part of it in the process of trying to figure out why it only works one time per page on Chrome), and the magnifier moves to the proper position immediately as soon as you open it rather than waiting until you move the mouse.

I propose we create a Forced Drama tag, and put it on every series that's not straightforward fluff, or has a third party in it, or one of the main characters has a romantic history. That should categorize things properly.

So like 90% of the site's mangas according to an absurd amount of the chapter threads here?

Yea, I don't like gore much so those scenes are really hard for me to read. My interpretation is that they got used to getting bitten at this point (look like nonchalantly Misao deal with her hand being bitten) that I guess bites like that are nothing to them anymore. After all it seem they are living this way 100+ years so it could even turn into some kind of fetish for them.

Vampires are often depicted as masochistic so it could very well be something like that. (Though they're also often depicted as sadistic instead so it's really down to the exact depiction in question.)

But you're not doing what I'm talking about, which is coming up with a weird fan theory that Shou maliciously had a not-clearly-yuri ending specifically to target and punish yuri fans, apparently with the publisher in on the conspiracy for....um.....reasons.

I forget where I was actually intending to go with that anyways, lol. Whoops!

Maybe I don't want to be shrugged off with "it's not for you"? I consider myself yuri fan, so I am totally the target audience for this title, therefore it IS for me. And I have every right to criticize it. I did it, presented my arguments, done! What's your deal? Cause I totally don't need your advice on posting, patience, acceptable pace of yuri or what is for me and what is not.

Not all yuri is for everyone. I don't go into the threads for mangas that don't appeal to me personally and complain a bunch about them. I just realize that despite being a yuri fan and them being yuri mangas I am in fact not the target audience and move on to other series that do appeal to me. Pretty simple concept really.

Hey, listen! Got an idea! If you have more smartasses on this forum, bring them here! We can play more! I am bored anyway.

You know, your posts might go over better if you were less aggressive and inflammatory about them. And this is coming from someone who is often aggressive and inflammatory themselves too. You end up coming across as extremely defensive and completely closed to the idea you could in fact be wrong.

Isn't this a case of people expecting something that Shou didn't promise? I agree the ending was unsatisfying, but not because of the lack of yuri. It was clear practically from the start he wouldn't do anything overt, and it wasn't published in a yuri magazine in the first place.

This is one big case of fan entitlement, and crying because your fantasies weren't fulfilled by someone who never said they would in the first place.

I was personally just a bit disappointed that there was no yuri developments but that's not where any of my criticisms stem from at all. Even without yuri the story was still rather interesting up until those last several chapters which were just not very good at all.

Three chapters are more than enough to make a first impression and I am quite bored. It's not that hard to throw some hint or premise somewhere in a dialogue or background. Right now I am not totally hooked up.

Maybe this one isn't for you then?

Did I mention I am impatient as hell? :D

And that's your issue not the manga's. I'm always amazed at just how impatient people are. I've always considered myself to be an extremely impatient person yet compared to most people I've met or otherwise interacted with since becoming an adult I seem to have a ton of patience.

Anyway, not much happens in this manga. It would be nice to have at least some attempts at making a plot. Like if they would find a human girl or something? I dunno, this slice of life would seem really bland if not the setting and vamps. Author should add something more to the cart, in my opinion.

Are you sure you're reading the same manga as me? Cause last time I checked three chapters, especially in a slice of life manga, really isn't all that many for trying to actually accomplish anything.

Except the Dracula and Carmilla, as well as other classic vampires could go into the sun without burning just fine. The sun burning thing was mostly a movie invention, coming from Nosferatu mainly.

Some continuities try to deal with that by making a distinction between types of vampires. Vampire lords or true vampires are the ones that can go into the sun while normal vampires can't. Though most of the time they never go into why there's actually a distinction nor how the ones that can go into the sun are even made since the lesser vampires tend to be made by the ones that can go into the sun. (Typically in those continuities the lesser ones can't turn people into vampires.)

Now that I think about it, last episode of Legend of Korra is really insulting. So how their confess their love to each other? They stare into each other eyes passionately while holding hands.

Apparently even this much is censored in some releases from what I've heard and seen. I never even knew about this stuff until a fair bit after finishing the series because the version of the last episode that I've seen ends with them walking into the portal and that's it.There's no hand holding or anything like that involved.
