We've seen Mai in the manga, she wasn't Nanao. Or rich.

I feel that what happened to the mother may have something to do in the end with the villainess system. Though it may just be me focusing on my own theory too hard... but I've felt for a while that the "system" isn't actually any sort of remnant from a game or anything like that, but is rather something like the mare that possessed Elsa in the first chapter: a hostile spirit that is preying in Evie's fears, presenting itself to her in a form she expects.

OTOH it was able to screw up her whole family's social situation when she refused to kill Elsa at the beginning, and future-Elsa was interfering with it (at great expense).

Maid seemed to have green eyes when she said "I'll let no harm", blue eyes after that.

18.5 seems a subset of 15.5?

This makes for an interesting contrast to This Isekai Maid is Forming a Union. I'm not sure how the protagonists of each series would feel about each other.

Diana sure wants to form a commoner's union

if you know what I mean

True isekai fantasy: when your OL filing and report skills are actually useful in the new life

Seeing that this is a manga I'm fully expecting them to (in)conveniently run into somebody and somehow getting interrupted.

As they leave after getting it on, they run into Mai. Que drama.

Nah, they run into Mai as they go in.

I can see feeling awkward about freeloading in the house of your gf's aunt without your gf... OTOH seems like you should get a job before giving up free rent.

Though I guess I'm not sure the location is good if you don't have a moped ride, either.

So, is Kurumi's mom aware that her daughter is dating a office worker?

I think Kurumi's mom wants to date an office worker <.<

Just once, I'd like the mom of the MC to actually get a gf. It rarely happens, I think

The S&M one had the mothers of the MCs having had a thing in the past, and hooking up again.

"the moon is beautiful" has four words, I was expecting it... though I suppose four words in Japanese is different.

I recall no romance in The Little Prince. Little Princess, maybe.

Saying "I'll take the 30,000 yen off your bill" really makes it sound a lot more like she's extorting the poor girl for sex.

Um, but hasn't Miyako been extorted and pressured into it from the very start of the series? I do not think anything has changed here.

I don't recall extortion, no. Just "you're poor and could afford nicer things if you let me pay you for sex". But Miyako was squeaking by on her own, she wasn't starving or homeless.

Japan must have the shortest summers ever that they were only able to make one plan to go to the beach the entire year, haha.
Just pick a different day?

I know, right? Isn't their summer break 6 weeks? And if Yoroizuka has a job they'd probably be going on a weekend anyway...

So what exactly is the background situation here? The early reference to “cram school” suggests that sensei is an aspiring college student who is the JK’s tutor. Some scenes take place at sensei’s house and some at the JK’s, but there’s no evidence of parents being present. And the two of them watch movies and eat dinner together as if they’re roomies (they’re not, obviously, but they act like they are at times).

Am I just not picking up the clues that explain the overall setup?

It is no clearer to me. There was mention of a night class. Last chapter had me thinking "tutor" too, I hadn't though of cram school.

This has always been a setting with fairly high magic. And not only did it start the very dark point of Yvonne being told to kill or cripple Elsa, Elsa herself was possessed by a demonic 'mare'. We got a lot of fluff after that, maybe too much for too long, but "there's dark shit here" was introduced on the very first pages.
