By job I didnt mean empoyment neccissarily- tho maids usually are. But its more of a 'role' they are assuming. that can be because its a job or just something they want to do. I more just meant it is not something they are FORCED to do and have no choice.

I also think it super trivialises what slavery is really like to claim maids fall in the same catagory.

There are some works with cat girl races who are like instituionaly a slave like race to humans- and even if the MC treats them with love, I really dont like those settings. But I dont get that kinda vibe in these shorts at all.

These are ALL maids- maid is a job. They can leave or stop it any time they want. They also seem to love both what they do and WHO they do it for.

They are not SERVANTS in the victorian sense- even though those were also not slaves either, they did always seem a step towards it to me. But these cute maids in jobs they love?? Sorry but NO. Its nothing like it. In fact its less like slavery than most of OUR regular jobs.

I've also seen some dojins where it can be entirly removed and set aside if she wants- no idea how its considered in canon.

@Throbelisk By obvious ship I dont mean they are a cannon relationship, but i meant they are as close to cannon as this show gets and thus obviously will attract shipping- because at least ONE of the two of them loves the other.

I would say ANY couple is closer to being cannon when one of the 2 loves the other- even if the other character is unaware. As long as they have not actually been confessed to and turned them down- you can kinda consider it half way to being a real ship yes?

Certainly more so than just pairing 2 characters together when there has been no indication either like the other romantically. Besides Chinatsu's over the top obsession/infatuation with Yui, that isn't really taken seriously anyway, the only other character we KNOW for sure likes another that way Ayano.

Even though we all say himawari and sakurako are an obvious ship- even there it has never been made clear either of them romantically likes the other- its all hints and teasing and maybe just tsundere friends maybe more?

Ayano's is blatently romantic feelings though- even if Kyouko is oblivious. Hence why I say they are the closest to a cannon ship.

^I already know ALL that. Well, most of it. Sure I know sucubus are ALSO know as dream demons.

But most of the rest of their lore doesn't match Shimiko does it? She does not 'appear in dreams to seduce men, usually through sexual activity.' She has no strong sexual effect on men at all nor seduces anyone in dreams OR when awake. She is very innocent.

I also know the lilith reference was probably why they chose ancestors name- but there is no way she is meant to be THE lilith- at least I think so?

So I stand by my point. Yuuko is a dream demon- but NOT a succubus. a sucubus is another type of dream demon- there are probably dozens of types of demon that can be called dream demons.

If they wanted her to be a sucubus they would have said so. And made her do sucubus like seduction things- I think the author just pulled a few things from their lore when coming up with Yuuko.

^ Nope she is a dream demon she is NOT a succubus. She can enter peoples dreams and manipulate them to a degree but there is nothing else likening her to a succubus.

Succubus are SUPER atractive to men to the point they cant resist them- and they seduce men to drain their life force. None of that is like Yuuko. They also typically have wings.
