@Kundara yeah the time travel was unnecessary imo if she isn't changing anything, and adds a bit of baggage that I'm not sold on to boot

The alleged point was to change other things, specifically the endless wave of demon attacks that Future!Elsa warned about. Basically, to turn off some monster faucet, so the existing attack (probably) still happens, but ones after it don't.

Well, this explains a lot about Elsa's feelings and her always asking Evie to bully her. ^_^

The Elsa in Ch 14 doesn't seem like she remembers this incident, though. She regards Yvonne as just another stuck-up noble girl, and is surprised by the defense and "bullying".

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I like it too.

there isn't any evidence that lapys has or will develop any kind of romantic feeling for Diane so there's really not a lot of potential for a poly ending

If Natori openly dates Lapis and Diane, but Lapis and Diane don't date each other, that is still poly. There is no need to close the triangle.

The "cops" capture them, but then try to take them in different directions...

I'll just thank the translators for bringing this to us. More, please!

Also. TL error: "Your highness" is only to female royalty and the witch was like 'youre male?'

Incorrect. When there is a precise distinction, it is that "your majesty" is for the actual monarch (and maybe their consort) and "your highness" for the princes. Though in reality 'Highness' is often used for the head of state too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highness https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majesty

"The term [Majesty] was first assumed by Charles V, who believed that—following his election as Holy Roman Emperor in 1519—he deserved a style greater than Highness, which preceding emperors and kings had used. Soon, Francis I of France and Henry VIII of England followed his example.[1] "

I would guess the Japanese used 'denka'.

Drinking age in Japan is 20, and US is 21, so if we're measuring how reasonable and responsible a country's laws are by that the US wins.

US: "you can buy guns and due for your country, but not buy a beer"

Note; the scanlators changed the last page of Chapter 31 from this to this since it became clear that Fukami didn't (properly) confess just then.

Thank you for the notice!

If Kase redefines the race to "I'm definitely leaving, but if you win I'll tell you why"... that still won't change that they missed a good apartment because of her stupidity, but it'll be a marginal improvement.

(I think we don't get her name in the entire first chapter...)

mnemonic: Mashiro has an 's' for sex

Honestly I'm enjoying that this is basically a comedy

It's like a comedy disguised as a drama. That scene where they are tailing each other could've come right out of a comedy if the tone was different. "Even now, he's the picture of an unsuspecting citizen!" That's because he IS one. "His talent for disguises far surpasses my own!" That's because it's not a disguise! Love it.

Tone, eh?

It's an amusing theory, and that's what matters!

If I'd seen the raws I wouldn't be posting spoilers.

Hmm, so the manga does seem to be set in Japan. Someone is killed in his Shinmachi residence in chapter 1, the priest is Shirafune...

But 'Benika' doesn't seem like a Japanese name, and the girl is given much lighter hair. A refugee girl herself?

Edit: then again, after a search, it does seem to be a Japanese name, if rare. Though maybe also Indian.

Assassin ends up marrying the priest to get citizenship, a passport, and status as Benika's "mommy".

(Yes, Catholic priests aren't supposed to marry, but not like it's illegal in civil law.)

"With all due respect, you are the same little bitch that extorted money from me, your own big sister, so you wouldn't tell the family I was gay, just so you could blow it on gay hookers, right? My advice is to grow a soul!"

IIRC onee-chan volunteered the money, rather than Makino making threats.

Random: while I was at work today, lost in thought, it occurred to me that I don't think I've ever seen any isekai stories do any omake features/chapters detailing what's going on in the world they were pulled from (maybe a memory fault, but I digress).

Pretty rare, yeah. Isekair adjacent: "Twelve Kingdoms" gave Youko one episode of visions of school friend and her parents; it also had Taiki being un-isekaied back to Earth, which was a disaster. I think Fushigi Yugi or Magical Knight Rayearth have travel back and forth. The webcomic Erfworld at least showed us Gotti's friends blinking in surprise after his summoning away from Earth. The fanfics Ami's Odyssey and Dungeon Keeper Ami both have Ami establishing some contact with the Sailor Scouts back on Earth.

That's all I can think of.
