Oh, it's more shippy with a male MC? I'd assumed it was the same, since it was pretty dang shippy with the feMC.

Yeah, there's only one spot I know of where the dialogue changed, though I can't recall off the top of my head where I saw comparison screenshots showing it.

And you poor poor Moonies... no pink clothes...

I think my trainer turned out good regardless of a lack of pink clothes.

Fact that this is possibly a serious page is even sadder, actually...

It seems like it's satirical with how ridiculous the majority of the reasons are. Also #24 is basically exactly what did actually happen as well.

Moon seems to be the popular choice this generation. Looks like everyone here has it and out of the four people I personally know who have one of the games irl only one of them has Sun. (I've got Moon myself because night > day.)

Blank Mage posted:

So, as someone who hasn't played this latest game but sees a lot of art about it, what makes this iteration so gay? Is there any real subtext to it, or is this just yuri goggles?

It's mostly yuri goggles but not entirely. If your trainer is male then the game actually does subtly ship the two together and there is a bit of the less subtle shipping dialog changed if your trainer is female to avoid that but they still left a lot of that stuff in so it's quite easy to see that way regardless. I think the intention is that Lillie and the protagonist are simply supposed to be very close if the protagonist is female. Won't stop me from shipping them together though.

Nebby is sort of like their kid

So true. Lillie even acts as a typical mom when her kid goes to his first day of school.

Missed this part but this was my exact thought at that point in the game. It was adorable as hell. One of the most adorable moments in the game, along with the splash scene.

There is nothing wrong with supporting Trump though. People raging at, ignoring and blaming Trump supporters do the same thing they reproach him. Elections are over, he's president, now quit it with the constant hatred, not only it won't change anything but it's rather annoying than effective...

There's plenty wrong with supporting Trump. People are just tired of explaining it repeatedly to people too dim to understand. He's a completely unqualified president who has, as of yet, shown himself to not give two shits about any of his campaign promises and has so far consistently gone back on all the most major ones. The next four years are going to be a complete shit show no matter what and things are only going to get worse before they get better. Simply shutting up about it will serve no purpose other than to make people think that this is okay.

I don't think you need a fb account to view their stuff

Looks like you're right, although getting this every single time I load a page is obnoxious as hell. Also doesn't look like there's a way to download all the pages at once unless I'm overlooking something which is going to be pretty tedious. (Even more so with the aforementioned "please register!!!!!" garbage popping up every page though it looks like I eventually got rid of that through Stylish at least.)

Not too sure exactly why, probably just to build up a following of their own on Facebook.

This is a pinned post from their page

Just a quick heads up, we DO NOT accept any Manga Translation Requests or any form of request for now. Especially, we have NO plans on posting our works on Dynasty-Scans from now or the near future. We also do not provide imgur links, however it may be possible to find a source if you do a quick online search. PLEASE STOP ASKING US. Thank you.

So unless another scanlation team steps in you are going to have to go to their Facebook page to read future Citrus chapters.

Guess I'm not getting their works then because I don't use Facebook. Doing things this way is only going to get in the way of them building up their own following really. It'd make a lot more sense if they said something like Mangafox or some other reader which has zero respect for mangakas and scanlators.

The only scanlating group still doing Citrus is Chaosteam and they have chosen not to put up their projects on Dynasty.

This seems like kinda a strange choice if the idea is for people to actually read it. Have they given a reason not to?

So long they actually end up together and it's not a drawn-out angst-fest, I'm good with pretty much whatever.
To be perfectly honest, I've read every translated work available so I can't afford to have standards anymore anyway.

Well if everything is always to be expected then it gets kinda boring. You don't need something to be totally angst-filled or anything for you to not be able to see the ending coming from like page 2 though.

And I said it was good despite that fact anyways.

Hmm... Not that I'm aware of. I went through my settings and tried whitelisting dynasty-scans.com/* but it didn't seem to make a difference. I also tried enabling native script import, but didn't give it a browser profile path, but if I understand what it is, I shouldn't need to do a native import right? I tried disabling all of my extensions and running it, but it still didn't come up. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the script, and I've tried clearing my cache and cookies and restarting the browser...

Well, I didn't mean to bother you, so if nothing stands out to you don't worry about it too hard. I was mostly just wondering if I was missing something stupidly obvious, or if there was an easy way to troubleshoot it. Thanks for your help so far. I'll probably keep tampering with it for the next few days and see if I can't get something to work.

I may have inadvertently figured out something about this. I was randomly having a look at the code for quick quoting and fixed the issue it has where you can't quick quote multiple times without reloading the page. When I went to try the script in Chrome before uploading the update I found the script to be completely broken. This also happened when I reverted back to the old version as well.

If you go into TamperMonkey's dashboard then click Dynasty Thingifier's name in the list you'll get into its code itself. You'll need to click the tab up at the top that's labelled "settings" after doing this. Under that tab you'll find a section like this:

If you tick the same settings I have ticked here then the script should start working again. Though I haven't thoroughly tested it for issues.

I'll look into whether or not there's any way to not require users to mess with the script settings like this at some point in the future or a way to avoid this issue altogether when I get around to coding the new version but for the time being it's necessary for anyone on Chrome it seems.

Your comment made me think, but I indeed found it surprisingly hard to come up with a decent anime where the main protagonist is male without falling into the “generic template” trap. Even in something like Black Lagoon, where Rock is a decent and relatively well fleshed-out character, it is Revy who, at least in my opinion, defines the series*. Mononoke Hime falls into a similar category, with Ashitaka very much coming up short without San and Eboshi. One character I did come up with would be Ichise from Texhnolyze, but then again, it is very hard to argue one would want to identify with anyone in that “…long, violent spiral into utter hopelessness” (Carl Kimlinger in his review). The only “proper” protagonist that came to mind is Ginko, from Mushishi.

I can come up with one off the top of my head which is Ed from Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. He does occasionally exhibit annoying traits but he's a well-written character and doesn't come across as generic nor made up of nothing but awful traits piled upon more awful traits. Can't really comment on Black Lagoon though because I have yet to watch it. It is on my to-watch list though so I'll get around to it eventually. Though "eventually" could mean tomorrow or it could mean a few years from now, lol.

Ah, thatd be cool. I'm too used to seeing every new character getting in her way, and Sato's a pretty solitary person too (aside from Shio), the thought of someone trying to help her (out of their own volition, not blackmailed) and Sato accepting someone's help never even crossed my mind. Tho I'd be worried that if bff does sympathise and offers to help, Sato still offs her cus doubts, preferring to keep their sweet life intact and secretive, and wanting to keep Shio's existence all to herself.

That's definitely a concern if things were to turn out that way. I think Sato would probably be a little bit more reluctant to deal with her the way she's dealt with others though unless she saw it as the only option.

She's getting signals and hints that somewhere's off with her, and that's probably enough, as it's all slowly building up. It feels like one day, she'll see that one big "DANGER" sign, (whether Sato realises she's noticed or not), and then maybe actively try harder to interfere/do something about it.

I'd like to see her try to help Sato become less of a murderous and underhanded person instead of working against her. I could sort of see it happening too where she learns about Sato and Shio but also ends up learning about Sato's aunt so rather than turning her friend into the police or something she wants to help her become more normal.

This guy begs to differ.

I have no idea who that is but I'd still disagree with the sentiment. The overwhelming majority of male main characters are someone who has a generic look and a generic personality in order to try and appeal to the main viewerbase/readership of the series. This is why you get completely terrible characters such as the protagonist in Muv-luv who seemingly has no actual redeeming traits and is constantly a dim-witted asshole yet has hordes of girls fighting over him. (To the detriment of the story might I add. I couldn't continue playing because he was so terrible.)

Is it bad that I absolutely have no problems with this rule, at least most of the times sometimes?

Well it's true more often than not. Far too many male characters just end up a generic everyman. It happens with female main characters as well but it's not nearly as prevalent.

I wouldn't say Mami is the the worst character but she by far is the most irrelevant and least interesting. It kiillllllssss me that the next movie is about her.

I'd say Nagisa is least relevant. She's just kinda there for no real reason. And the only purpose she seems to even serve is to put Homura and Mami into conflict. Mami's worse because she's the source of a lot of problems for Homura during the series and continues to be a problem during the movie. Sayaka, on the other hand, was a problem during the series but not so bad during the movie. Kyoko's fine though and Madoka, other than the fact she always seems to focus on everyone that isn't Homura, is mostly fine as well.
