When the 'victim' or whatever you call them in ntr is a generic watching audience of otaku it doesn't really count as ntr does it? At least it doesn't really feel like it.. I mean she was never really theirs anyway.

@Kirin Well, I'd expect even if she was working on offical works she'd still do BL fan doujins since its her love- tho I get she would have less time for it when busy- the same as any job tho.

But as for the artist compromising and having to be more mainstream- does that really happen much? I mean the reason the artist is successful is surely due to what they are creating already- they obviously have a popular niche that brought them to a companies attention..

Why would a company make them change the succesful stuff they do that their fans want? Wouldnt it just risk thier popularity for the company? Also creators wont do their best work if ithey cant work on what they want to either?

It seems short sighted and dumb to turn a creator more generic and loose what made them popular.. They wont keep or gain fans like that?

I never understood the idea that if a small indie artist - in any field - music, manga, etc - get discovered and go big, they are suddenly somehow a traitor and selling out and now crap..?

I know she didnt think that far, but it was along those lines - like going big was bad somehow?

^It IS nearly normal in the other image.. doesn't explain why its blue in this one. Artistic licence is fine but if you mess with charactes so much people dont recognise them then thats not a good change. patchy and remi's hair has changed too, and their outfits AND no wings on flan etc- it all adds up and after enough changes- they are just not the same characters.

Its like If i made marisa tall and black haired and gave her wings and dressed her in a chinese outfit.. should I be surprised if nobody knew it was marisa? I could claim artistic licence all I wanted but It still wouldnt look like her.

I always thought if a guy became a girl I dont see why they would suddenly be into guys, as usually happens in such stoires. They would surely still be into girls- assuming they were in the first place.

@MoldarachDS I think they look almost zero % like any of those characters. Remi and sakuya look little like them facially.
Sakyua does NOT have blue hair. Neither does Patchy. Remi's hair is not a mile off but still the wrong colour.
Where are flans wings? Why does Remi have elf ears? Why is Sakuya dressed like an OL? Why is Meilings star in her hair?

Some of that is nitpicking if taken alone, but all combined?
If you draw characters and even big fans cant recognise half of them i gotta count that as a fail.

^Yeah but its telling a story it isnt just art. The story has to be consistant to its reality and make sense if we are to take it as more than nonsensical rubbish.

Realism isnt optional in writing unless you establish why it doesnt have to be, and even then it has to stick to its established rules- and the explanation needs to make sense. We have nothing to go on in regards to how 2 different realities are co-habiting space.

I have no issue with the idea- as long as we get some explanation that matches what we are being told.

A lot are jumping on the hallucinations train. It could be but isn't supernatural abilities to see what others can't the bread and butter of neji's works? Personally wouldn't have thought of it that way with this author to be honest.

Yeah but if she is percieving a reality that is true, then the kid petting her should not have matched what she or the mother was seeing depending what the kid was seeing. Both visual realities cant both match up to what is seen and what is touched at the same time right?

If the kid was petting a cat girl, to the mom it would look like he was petting thin air above the cat and pulling a tail that wasnt where it should be. If he saw a cat, and could touch it as it seemed to be, to the MC it would look like his hand was going inside the catgirl 'illusion'.. and if she went to pet the cat girl at the same time- what they can both feel its head in different places?

I like it but manga where something seems like 1 thing to 1 person and something else to everyone else dont make much sense to me- unless you establish one is ONLY an illusion that doesnt match what was there- like if another person tried to touch it the image wouldnt match reality so they dont let someone try to ouch them.. Because only 1 reality can match what is physically there, with both MC and another touching and seeing different it cant both be true.

The kid reaaching for its ear or tail would not find them where they seemed if she was really a catgirl - if she is really a cat, MC couldnt pat her head where it seems to be when she does.

What is meant to happen if the MC and someone else both stroke her head at the same time when neithers reality match up?

The only thing that makes sense is the MC is delusional- but I dont get the impression thats what is meant to be happening.

^They seem exactly the same age to me- and also have the same uniform. I guess it could be a year or 2 ago but i'd think they'd make that clear if it was. Like say it was a year ago- or put them in middle school uniforms.

^Ok, so if the title DOESN'T actually say girlfriend, then yeah. I'm a lot less certain they are- and not just close to it and very flirty. There hasnt even been a single kiss in story if we dont count the food swap. I'd say its more like 50/50 if they are a couple now - I really cant say 1 way or the other.

But her last thought about wanting to be her one prince would make more sense if they are not.

Not sure why the translator would change girl to girlfriend.. They will need to change its title if it turns out she isnt yet.

There isnt a single panel where they are doing something only a couple would- all the kissing images etc are stand alone pictures, not part of the actual chapters- so maybe they are not cannon?

I'd say given the mangas name they probably are, but I cant be 100% sure. But either way, I can imagine her still wishing to become the only prince her gf ever needs- even as her girlfriend (if they are), she cant be certain she can be her 'prince' forever after- she would probably still have some worries she will loose her to a 'real prince' one day?
