I like the yuri swamp. It looks nice.

I'm pretty sure that's where we all already are so I'd certainly think it's nice.

I think you may have overlooked an important part of what I said. The images are 20x the file size of the site in general. So manga pages are going to take a lot longer to load than the general pages. For the images section though, this is less of an issue because those images are often very small compared to manga pages.

I clicked a few random images while typing up this post and most of them hovered around the 100-200kb range which is only 2-4x the size of the site's pages and only 10-20% the size of the manga pages. As a comparison, this chapter posted today has images that are much smaller than most chapters uploaded, being right around the 200kb mark, and I have no issues loading them at all.

Ayane did nothing wrong tbh

Really, what? No matter if the main character was being stupid Ayane was unambiguously 100% in the wrong for her actions. She not only ruined her coworker's career but outed her as a lesbian. That's a shitty thing to do no matter how you look at it.

My google fu failed me searching for a RSS feed of "Recently Added", so I created a feed https://serval.gitlab.io/feeds/dynasty.xml, is updated hourly. I hope someone can find it helpful.

There's multiple available RSS feeds.

Recently Released
Recently Added
And then there's one other that depends on a user-specific token which returns a listing of the most recently released chapters of things you're subscribed to. I don't know how to go about it on Chrome but on Firefox you can view all available feeds on a page if you right click->view page info then click the feeds tab.

Oh, come on, have you read her earlier works? There's a fucking penis-shaped alien in one. Pretty much every NSFW thing she's done is horrible. And I mean, Girl Friends is great, Secret of the Princess is great, but The Secret Recipe's bland, so's Hana and Hina. She did some good stuff but most of her work is... meh.

All of this is entirely subjective. Personally I enjoyed all of those works you specifically named and the penis alien one was weird as hell but pretty hilarious nonetheless.

I have this issue as well but it's just a matter of my ISP being utter garbage. It does seem like more people are complaining about the site being slow lately, however, but it's probably not something those hosting the site can fix.

Edit: also, it's just with the manga itself. The site loads normally but the images take forever ;-;

Also just to clarify this bit for you: Images make up a very disproportionate chunk of the bandwidth required to browse the site. For example this entire page, including your avatar (before I submitted this post), was only about 50 kilobytes. In comparison I just went and checked the first page of the topmost entry on the front page and it's a 1000 kilobyte file. That's 20x the size of this page.

why is there a gay manga on this site ;_;

Er, you do realize that this site is entirely based around gay manga to begin with, right? It just tends to focus on girl x girl stuff rather than guy x guy stuff in general.

I'm looking for this Takemiya Jin manga.. all I remember is this scene: the 2 girls had just finished having sex and the girl told the other girl to apply ointment on her secret garden because it might have been scratched or something.

I'm not even sure if it's a Takemiya manga, but that scene was whats stuck to me.

I'm not sure it's the one you're thinking of but there's this chapter of Girlish Sweet by her that's more or less like that.

It should have just been done in RenPy, I think, given it doesn't have anything that goes beyond that. Then you could use it on Macs/Linux as well as Windows. But RenPy games are easier to pirate, I think, and that was probably a consideration.

From what I recall, MangaGamer's version of the game is drm free so it wouldn't make any difference at all actually. (And that means Steam's version is either drm free or uses Steam's drm platform which is trivial to bypass for pirates at this point.)

very linear.

Personally I don't see this as a problem. It's fairly long anyways and not having to deal with choices means you can just comfortably sit in for the ride. Kinetic novels just means the developer can focus more on the one path available.

If I had to make a complaint it'd be that the game's only available in such a ridiculously low resolution like 99% of visual novels. Trying to read an 800x600 game's text on a 2560x1440 monitor when you're already blind as a bat is not a very fun experience. (And annoyingly the program I often use to force games into a higher resolution than normal doesn't work properly with Kindred Spirits, just ends up the same size but with a large black area covering the rest of the resized window.)

TNG due in no small part to Picard being the far superior captain >_>

TNG had a better cast in general in my opinion. Though Picard was definitely the best by far. Also agreed on the movies sucking. In my opinion the movies (with maybe the exception of First Contact in, some bits in Nemesis which were alright such as Data's sacrifice, and the part in Generations where the Enterprise crash lands) tended towards exactly the crap that makes me dislike the original series.

TOS was like a mix of a space western and sci-fantasy (there's a difference between having to create fictional tech and flat out disregarding logic and realism and just going with high-tech themed fantasy with little to no regard for the logistics) which are both genres I strongly dislike.

And talking about that theory; in my opinion it's just vain inanity made-up by some arrogant professors, so full of themselves they thought their interpretation would be more exact than the author's themselves. It's not even intellectual onanism, that's just bullshit, at least when it's put on like that.

This actually reminds me of an anecdote I read a month or two ago. It was about Isaac Asimov attending some lecture or something where the speaker was talking about interpretations of some of Asimov's work. The speaker didn't know what Asimov looked like so they didn't know he was in the audience and afterwards when Asimov talked to him and revealed who he was the guy popped off with something along the lines of "just because you're the author you can't presume to know what was intended" or some garbage like that. It just comes across as completely arrogant.

As I keep saying: Your interpretation doesn't have to be correct to be valid. But just because you've interpreted something one way doesn't mean it's correct. And the author of all people most certainly has the authority to state that that's not the correct interpretation. To try to override the author on something like that is just a matter of someone failing to get over their own ego.

Certainly, there are common and uncommon interpretations of a given work. And authors with talent and skill can usually create a work such that the common interpretations of that work jibe with his/her intentions. But the uncommon interpretations are just as valid (and occasionally more interesting).

I think this is the crux of our disagreement. My viewpoint does not invalidate other interpretations for not being the correct ones. That doesn't devalue them in the least and definitely doesn't mean they're suddenly no longer interesting. It's just arrogant for someone to claim they know what was intended better than the person who wrote it though.

Nobody (not even the author) gets to say "THIS is what this work means, and all other interpretations are wrong." (Most days I'm a firm believer in the death of the author.

I cannot disagree with this more. It doesn't matter that your own personal interpretation is wrong. You are free to interpret it however you like. The author definitely does, however, have the right and authority to say you are interpreting it incorrectly. After all, they kinda wrote it. Nobody knows what was intended better than they do.

I gotta say the "OMG THERE'S A HINT OF TESTOSTERONE IN MY PURE ESTROGEN FANTASY!" complaints are kind of odd. It's like being back in elementary school and hearing the kids freak out about cooties.

I'd be fascinated to see how the people making those complaints break down in terms of age, sexual experience, and the presence or absence of a Y chromosome. I have my suspicions about how that particular set of data would be skewed, but I could be wrong.

Considering this is by the author of Prunus Girl there's not even a real reason to believe that it's definitely not going to be yuri. It's just par for the course around here anymore for some reason. Most of the on-going series threads are filled with inane complaints, often the same complaints over and over and over despite the fact people keep repeatedly explaining why their complaints are invalid. (And thus proving that those complaining can't even be bothered to read the thread.)

Something about the Cheshire part tipped me off that that was the case... ;D

It's a bit more obvious here at least but on other forums I use a slightly different name. Simply Alice, when it's available. (Wasn't available here though unfortunately.) Multiple times though I've ended up in a debate over Touhou for one reason or another and the other person has tried to attack me for being a Touhou fangirl due to my name "obviously" being based on Alice Margatroid, lol.

Alice Margatroid. I like her outfit, the general personality traits she's typically shown to have, and the whole puppetmaster thing is pretty interesting. (As opposed to what people have thought on other forums though, my username has absolutely nothing at all to do with Touhou. Instead it's more Alice in Wonderland-based.)
