Yeah, I knew the VP wasn’t gonna be any better than the way she was introduced with all her associations with the Prez. Actually you could tell that it was somewhat hinted that she could’ve been the worst of the two with how the story described Prez’s reasonings to be relating to her past and anything that happened to him directly. Doing it for a savior complex and achieving “justice” is one thing, but to witness a death and revel in it is another level of psychotic. How is what they did justice when Michinaga was no more than a victim with how she was constantly manipulated by everyone she could reach out to, other than Satsuki that is.

The thing is they’re in fucking high school now, if they started in elementary, how many have they fucking murdered and no one has noticed a pattern of unusually high deaths in students for the schools they’ve gone to? I doubt that they’ve waited until Satsuki showed to start doing this shit, so it’s likely that it’s just been low key enough that until Satsuki went against them, no one’s been smart to figure out they’ve been causing “accidents”

As someone who plays Honkai and Revived Witch, etc., not all Gacha games story are trash and are skip worthy.

Tbh, as someone who grew up with horrible parents, I tend to be more sensitive or particular with stories that write about “bad” parents, and I feel like their mom isn’t a bad mom. She was lacking a lot, but it didn’t mean she didn’t try for their children. I don’t fault her for the things she didn’t know how to handle or do with such a broken way of life before she had kids. And since she said her ex had tried to communicate with books after that conversation with her in law, it clearly shows that she tried to fix things before ultimately leaving bc no one had properly communicated with her on what she should do or how to fix it. Her in law probably scolded her but didn’t help her understand, expecting she would just know as if the mom was raised in any normal way to understand her.

I feel just as bad for their mom as her kids bc she did love them and they made her happy, but the thought of her incompleteness could negatively affect or hurt them caused her to leave bc she was unable to fix these things. Is she entirely blameless, no, I do think she should have tried to reach out to them in some sort of way after time passed to show that she hasn’t forgotten about them, but that’s not entirely on her either. If the father was able to send her something, he knew where she was and could also told their kids where she was or tried to explain the situation. Kaoru could have also explained to his sister about the real reason why their mother left as well before once he saw she was blaming herself. I don’t think the story has said at any point that Miss Sunflower or Kaoru has ever reached out to their mom or asked their father about her after she left either. All in all, this family had severe communication issues whether they were together or apart.

Honestly I’m surprised that she was so ready to just accept Midori as a familiar and in all gave no shit about the fact a human came out of her summoning circle. It’s also curious that she tried to protect Midori and kept her close as she contained the MC’s summon, despite her being a stranger or “useless” without being able to use magic.

I think rather than evil, I think she’s rather just a hardass due to tragedy and upbringing that along the progression of the story the type of ruler her fiancé seemed to be and the MC’s views was just disappointing or disjointed from the future and ideals she sought or valued so it ended with her revolting against them. Or perhaps, she’s designed to be a tragic figure condemned in order to revolutionize the change of the current class system. There are some likelihood of the latter bc it’s very likely her sister was murdered, for the purpose of propelling Lapis as the heir of their family, and she could be carrying the guilt and burden for a long time leading to her making her decision

Agree, ppl underestimate the power of a simple reinforcement of something basic can do to someone in a panic or unsure. It’s not just what’s being said, but how it’s said, she said in a simple and nonchalant way bc it’s how it needs to be done, she’s not being harsh or strict bc Riri made it clear all she wants is to get it over with at the bare minimum, and needed someone to reinforce that to her

The thing about this is, I’m wondering if there are others like Ayaka out in this world, experiencing the same repitition unable to really say anything without sounding like a mad man. After all Eidetic memory is very rare, but it’s not possible that she’s the only person in the world to have it while this is going. Even outside the two MCs it’s a very interesting setup to explore, if the author chose to explore it any further.
