I really like the goofy faces the artist gave Unzan.

And in their world there's already advanced biotechnology research. So this is one of the more logical places for it to appear.

The art's a lot more Western in style than a lot of what we see here, so I can see how it'd be a bit jarring. Not bad though, save for Yukari's face which seems slightly off and the fact that her butt sticks way out.

Bad and good are subjective value judgements.

Objective judgement would be whether something is well executed, or whether it's canon (although in some cases canon gets pretty fuzzy).

Neither is justification for being a jerk, which there's been a lot of recently.

Hah, I didn't notice that panel at the end where the goofy friend actually reacts to getting hit by a flying heart. What a great detail.

The funny part is, like Madoka I haven't actually read/watched the original but I've read enough about it to pretty much know it. And from what I gather, while they're kinda cagey about it there's a lot that suggests a canon relationship either by the end of the series or shortly after.

I'll be honest, I much prefer Kantai Collection art when they don't bother with the random battleship bits stuck in their hair.

that said, there didn't seem to be much actual Rinnosuke x Marisa to this at all, more like them being friends or pseudo-family than anything romantic. Which is fine, I'd rather see Marisa with Alice or Shanghai or Nitori.
