The need to spell out a happy ending, vs leaving it to the imagination of the readers is debatable.

Obviously, at first, the author was going for the latter (Cf the title itself), but ended up doing the former.

Whether under the pressure of fans, of the editor, or because they had second thoughts about it, we will never know.

People who wanted to stay with the first ending can just ignore this chapter and consider it as non-canon, or as an alternate ending.

It's true that there are a lot of parallels to be made with Girl Friends, now that I think of it.

Mari wasn't an otaku, but other than that, the process looks the same. Though I doubt this one will proceed until graduation, like Girl Friends.

I know you mean it ironically, but I would have translated it as "lesbian" at least.

And there isn't even a T/N to explain what "rezu" is supposed to mean.

Also, using "Lezzie-stance" for the following wordplay would have been better, in my opinion.

You made choices for translation, and I respect that, but "rezu" makes me think of "resurrection" rather than lezz and this use, in the middle of the manga, sticks out like a sore thumb.

I guess that Aya's gaydar went off after being around Marika for a while and she decided to make her realize it. And/or she actually fell for Marika first. But the method is pretty stupid.

But the hyper side-characters and chaos around the mains is always quite tiring. His manga are "noisy".

Actually, this author gives me Shimura Takako vibes, in the way their characters are multi-layered.

It's a rocky relationship. Saeko and Miwa are not a good match for now, because they both have baggage.

Either the author's goal is to make them eventually breakup, or to change enough and open up to each other, so their couple stabilizes.
