I'm sorry, "think" was the wrong word there and it came out a lot more extreme than I meant, you're quite right to call it out. My English is worse than I think. What I was thinking about there is just that for all we know the inspiration for the story is one of those thoughts you get while showering or waiting for an elevator. "How would my career play out if I was gay?" and by the time she's got her hair dried she has a lesbian idol romance scenario that's personal but not at all confessional.

I'm not convinced that the breakup can be separated from the pair's characterisation, and I think the author would be completely nuts to abandon the wisdom and inspiration behind the one-shot. I expect a slightly bittersweet but mainly BFF ending.

and what kind of a monster would call either of these two a bad person :(

I did notice but I give it the benefit of the doubt.

The last two episodes of Release the Spyce were such a disappointing utter copout. Every single thing that could have gone wrong went right. If there's a season 2 I bet it'll turn out the memory wipe didn't actually happen either.

Best episode yet. So intimate and uncomfortably ambivalent at the same time. Plus Touko aiming for Yuu's lap was hilarious.

This is looking like a winner so far. Every character is some variety of fun.

There's no reason to think it's autobiographical and not a flight of fantasy...

Many nice little extra details in the episode. I liked the long silences in the last scene too, not very common for cartoon shows.

I like how this started out and I hope it keeps away from heroes-and-villains territory.

People discussing their feelings frankly and clearing up misunderstandings before they snowball into absurdities. Preposterous. What is this author thinking.

Watched Akanesasu Shoujo up to ep.10. It's not my kind of thing but it has an interesting approach to implied feelings. The "wrong Asuka" scene in episode 8 was really cute. The bit I've liked the most was Chloe's introspections in episode 6 with the Children of Paradise reference but I don't think she gets a yuri ending.

Kase is such an asshole.
