Well, the ending was good as far as the story went but I generally hate these casual subservient / slave race settings - Not sure why they seem popular or acceptable in Japan. There are lots of them though - like the recent nekopara games or even back in the day with robots like chobits, and many other cat girl IP.

They have these sentient cat girls or robots all made to be bread / sold and owned by humans - even if in the anime they are all looked after with love it is still slavery. EVEN with robot girls you make - if they have true AI awareness that makes it slavery - and I can't get past being disturbed at how scummy the human race would have to be to happily and unquestioning go back to legal slavery. And them not being human doesn't make it better.

I always loved in Nanoha how their devices are treated - not just by their user - they effectively worked with you because they wanted to - when it came to upgrades they were asked what they thought - and could request their own or refuse etc.

So even though they were magic / nano tech devices not even vaguely humanoid - because they were truly sentient and self aware they were treated as partners and had rights.

I get where you're coming from here but being into pet-play I kinda just glossed over the implications of the setting because my brain immediately went to "envy kemonomimi" and stuck there.

As someone who has owned somewhere between 2-5 cats at any given point in their life this is extremely relatable.

I actually expected the drug/mindbreak thing to be a lot worse, but in the end it was just kinda dumb. Even the sex was kind of meh, and I'm someone who doesn't mind toys in her yuri.

This is way too tame to even qualify as mindbreak it's more like mindbendslightly.

Not a dream, it actually happened. The author just did a bad job of pacing the sequence of events.

A pretty predictable but still good and cute and pure resolution to the arc.

I love this series so much, I was ecstatic when I got the notification it has updated.

About aromantic thing. I'm not fan of labels myself. To me, especially in young age, calling yourself aromantic or asexual etc. is just drawing a hard line and limiting yourself. Sure you can really feel that way, but especially as teen you can't really be sure cos your experience is really limited. And I know it annoys people, but "you just didn't meet the right person yet" is a valid argument.

You realize that's pretty much the exact same thing straight people have been saying to queer kids since forever right?

I feel so deceived by this series. I did not come here to be kinkshamed and yet that is what this is shaping up to be: melodramatic kinkshaming.

I totally understand you. I often have some expectations for series and when it starts to go in different direction I drop it, because that is not what I wanted (I don't say it is a good habit). I was interested in series, but I'm glad I didn't jump ahead to it and only read comments cos now I know it isn't worth my time. (Also in case anyone missed it, my last comment was a sarcasm, doesn't change the fact that it seems like a lot writers thinks like that).

I should just write a book of nothing but the pet play fluff that my Master and I do.

She certainly hinted as much to Hibiki way back in ch 46 and 61 makes it clear she took that one very badly...
Well, not that she's exactly unglamorous in the flashbacks either but it apparently went into high gear after that episode.

Honoka would probably be quite the looker herself if she didn't affect the "disheveled fujoshi" habitus instead; she certainly seems to "clean up nicely" as it were. Not hard to theorise that's a more or less specific, if not necessarily conscious, reaction to growing up in the shadow of her older sister (and perhaps their statuesque mother too) - explicitly avoiding direct "competition" or comparison by going virtually the polar opposite way instead.

Considering that Shizuka dumped her because she cheated on her I'm gonna say she was a self-absorbed bitch then too.

True, but generally both people in that couple share similar lacks of interest in sex. It's a lot more complicated when one is ace and the other is actively interested in sex.

This manga is pure gold. I love how they casually talk about their kinks. I wouldn't say it's polyamory, since Risu is just a "watcher" of the other two relationship/love, but the dynamic of the 3 stays sweet, without jealousy.

Too bad it doesn't work that way in reality.

I mean it's a non-monogamous sexual relationship it is by definition polyamory. This is just one of any number of relationship dynamics that are covered by that classifier.

And it does work that way in reality for poly individuals.

By textual I mean overtly acknowledged rather than covertly implied. Subtext is implied in the text but whether it's actually there or not is a matter of interpretation.

Ah I missed YKA in there. I've kinda ignored it because from what I've heard it's like surrealist yuri which isn't my cup of tea.

If you have to mention "subtext level" than it's not textually gay which is my entire point.

These two had so much more chemistry than the actual couple in the series.

Doga Kobo did first two Yuru Yuri series, if that's what he's talking about(they're also on bait-happy New Game!).

Silver Link is master of the service-happy Prisma Illya adaptations and Yuri Kuma Arashi.

The only series Gokumi put out I've watched are Nakaimo and Kinmoza. Somebody else will have to discuss their yuri quotient.

So yeah all bait no actual fish.
