Also I love all those panels in which Minami just becomes a blob of gushing over something, and I was wondering, specifically in the case of page 18's "what a freakin' supernova of cute", how do lines like this or the earlier "gosh darn..." appear in the original text?

That's an interesting question! Whether it's the original or the translator, I like how they often use star-related terminology, given that Yuzu likes space. It's a fun connection, and shows how Minami has picked up on words like that because she's been around Yuzu this whole time.

A chapter in which we find out Yoroizuka is history's greatest monster, denying that adorable pup its huggles.

The atmosphere in this manhua is insane. People who say it could be an indie movie are spot-on; the lighting, the naturalistic dialogue, the expressions...it all is so great at conveying exactly the right feel.

Someone hadn't taken care of this already? The initial report was four days old when I'd seen it so I skipped over it thinking someone had dealt with it already.

It seems like Green777 hasn't posted since the initial report and while BattleBardOchre's continued post isn't what I'd call good it seems like the discussion has more or less died down.

It definitely had died down a bit, I mostly reacted because of the two new users who posted. (choosing this to be the first topic they engaged in felt like a red flag...) I was concerned that it was going to flare up again and wanted to make sure someone was watching it, because, as the others have said, the whole discussion is very discouraging and frustrating.

It doesn't rise to the level of anything quite yet, but I feel like the discussion on https://dynasty-scans.com/forum/topics/20438-girls-complex-a-la-mode-discussion?page=2 probably bears watching. It's veered off-topic and into some comments that aren't quite transphobic, but definitely are leaning in that direction.

Did they mind-meld in a dream and just interpret it differently?

Almost but not quite; in Tsukushi's dream, Hinoka explicitly rejects her, while in Hinoka's version she can't speak at all.

It's actually really interesting how well this manga does tension. I felt it this chapter.

Am I crazy, or were the final few pages of this chapter missing originally? I might have missed them somehow...

So, about that ending... Is she naked? Because that's the only reason that came to mind for her to say that.

Yeah, that was my thought as well. Especially given the focus on wearing fewer clothes earlier.

I loved seeing Mu Xiaoen being such a boss and organizing everyone, and it was really nice to see Shi Xingyuan get involved. She's always been an outsider, but she's slowly becoming a part of this community, and it's so sweet!

Seems like an interesting departure between the light novel and the manhua. In the latter, the flowers are Evie's idea nd they come during the festival. In this version, it seems like it's something the kids came with on their own to help nudge them together?

Yvonne was NOT trying to confess to Elsa. She just wanted to secretly give her the flowers and that's all. The kids were the ones who tried to make things explicit.

The wording of lines on pg6 and 7 were changed to try and make this clearer.

Thanks! It initially came across as if Yvonne instructed the kids to give the flowers and say the line, and she was only upset because Faye screwed it up. This version makes it clearer that the kids are adding in the second part without her knowledge.

Although, regardless of the kids' help, she did know exactly what giving her the flowers would mean. ;)

Yeah, I meant more like "as a surprise." Since she both clearly wanted (and knew) Elsa would know they're from her, and because while she wasn't outright confessing like it seemed initially, she definitely was doing it on purpose. Which is very cute!

I'm super interested to see how long it will take to get a true confession.

Oh dang, Evie just going right for it! Was she really just straight-up confessing if Faye hadn't screwed it up? It seems like it.

This jumping just confuses me.

It took me a third re-read to even realize that the first page wasn't following up directly from the end of the last chapter. (I finally realized it when I noticed she's wearing different clothes...) And to understand what the heck was going on.

I'm pretty sure now that the implication of the first page is that Ibuki has been psyching herself up to drink in front of people who aren't Botan in order to improve her confidence. And she looked at Botan's contact profile, but then closed it without contacting her.

This dynamic is fresh and comfy, Love it! is like, when you're watching the average super serious girl with the genki transfer student cliche and then there's the side pair who's chill and cool and you think "ah, if only they were the main focus..." and this is it LOL

Hah! I like that the gyaru character is actually very shy, while the "gloomy" one is super confident and direct. It's a nice change from the usual dynamic with those character types.

Well, that went from "zero" to "holy shit" real fast.

I...uh...don't exactly trust this manga to do this topic justice? I honestly can't decide if it'll be more annoying for this to be a fake-out or a genuine attempt at drama that feels a little unearned.

Reading it again, it seems like Nadeshiko is worried that Akane wants a real partner and that she, as a sex bot, won't be able to fulfill that role? While it seems clear from Akane's side, that she thinks of Nadeshiko as a full person and not just a machine, which is why she's so hesitant to register her. (it sort of hits both the uncomfortable "I'm owning a person" side and the "I'm making a lifelong commitment to someone that I might not be ready for" side)

"Mom's" motivations are unclear. It feels like she her goal was to create a robot that's so "human" that a real human would fall in love with it? And this will usher in "a new era," or something. So that's what her coaching of Nadeshiko has been leaning toward. It'll be interesting to see if her tack this time is counterproductive or not, seeing as she doesn't seem to really understand what Nadeshiko is worrying about.

It's interesting that the light novel explicitly mentions that Yvonne assumed the game world wouldn't allow Elsa to be with a same-gender partner. I think that actually makes some sense, given that Elsa was presumably created to be straight (if only by assumption), since all of her scripted love interests are apparently men. I think it adds even more to Evie's belief that she could never be with Elsa in that case.

I guess the implication is that Elsa is bi, and in this version she leans more toward women because of (I'm guessing) whatever the experience she had with Yvonne when they were children that keeps getting hinted about.

I don't think they were having sex though. We don't exactly see what happens (on purpose) but it looks like Mia is licking her navel, not what's below.

I looked again, and I think you're right. I think the implication is that's where things might have been heading, though. (And, really, walking in on your maids who are sisters with their shirts off and one's head hovering over the other's stomach is pretty much the same effect for the mistress, too)

I feel like this isn't either of the twins actually being into one another but just straight up the fact that since they share senses if they have sex then they'll get to feel a way they literally just wouldn't otherwise, it's kind of like masturbation with extra-sensory steps.

So romantically the pairings are very much Mistress X Chloe, and Young Lady X Mia, but in purely sexual terms Mia and Chloe are basically just masturbating when they have sex. Because it is still all about making themselves feel as good as possible using the sensory sharing.

That was my thought as well. Any kind of privacy around sexual matters between the sisters is pretty much impossible, since neither of them can ever have sex or be intimate without the other one knowing - and feeling - it. They will always be at least a passive participant in the other's activities. At that point, what's the difference if they're apart, in the same room or even touching each other? Might as well make the best of a very awkward, unique situation.

The mistress walking in on them, seeing them having sex, and being "Well, aren't you two close! :D" is, on the other hand, just classic porn logic.

The whole Sumeru arc is just chock-full of Sapphic goodness, and it's amazing.

Also, just what do you think of your friends if you think they'll act like elementary school boys >.>

I mean, to be fair, when their friends heard about another couple getting together their immediate move was to go tease them. I understand why they'd be reluctant to mess with the dynamics of the group by singling (coupling?) themselves out like that.

One thing I like about recent chapters is how it's showing Chidori and Nanoha slowing maturing in both their own lives and goals, and in how they approach their relationship. It's still sweet and blushing and heartthrobs, but they're also learning how to support each other in thoughtful, adult and loving ways. The kind of stuff they'll need to do if they want to keep their relationship going even as they deal with becoming adults. It's the sort of growth you only really get to see in long-running series.

well well well, with this type of story it's kind of a done deal that Asako is eventually going to respond to those feelings but wow, she really has just been through the wringer hasn't she with a string of relationships full of people who were just so unrepentantly rude to her no matter what she did. No shit she's living in the shadow of those experiences.

Yeah, geez! I guess they weren't kidding that she's a sucker for pretty faces, because she apparently wasn't picking her girlfriends for their sterling personalities and generous hearts.

And we have a word for people who get mad when you ask them how they'd like important events in a relationship to be marked: assholes. Same energy as the people who get offended if you have the temerity to make sure they want it before going in for a kiss.

To be fair to Yvonne with everyone mentioning how long it took her, she did almost unwillingly murder Elsa a few times. If you really think about it, the stabbing incident on the beach is incredibly traumatic. Her hesitancy makes a lot of sense.

Yvonne wasn't just hesitant, she thought the literal laws of the universe wouldn't allow them to be together. The villainess and the heroine do not get together.

With that in mind, I think her denseness makes more sense.

I feel like two (grown?) men standing in the entrance to a girls' school and literally saying they'll force girls to come with them against their will is something you ask the police for help with. Or at least get a damn teacher!
