I think this is the fifth time or so this one made me have feels. And it's still just four pages.

Can anybody suggest a yuri manga with a historical setting? I've read Her tale of shim chong some time before and I was craving to read something similar but set in Japan.

I started reading A Love Letter for the Marching Puppy last week and caught up with what's currently uploaded on Dynasty (the White Garden translation). Set in an early-20th-Century fictional all-female military academy, if that's historical enough for you. Has some of the cutest lead characters ever and so far has been pretty good. Kinda cliché but overall quite enjoyable.

May have noticed it already, but there's a spam bot in need of deletion.

I'm still 8 chapters out from the end, but since I'd skipped through the final chapter before I started reading it, I wonder if and how much my perception of and feelings while reading it has been influenced by knowing how incredibly bittersweet the ending will be.

I can't bear to read more than a few chapters at a time because I get incredibly HNNNNGGGG from all the adorable wholesomeness and fuzzy warmth, knowing at the same time how it ends and that the series is acutely aware of how transient we humans are.
I think it always had that melancholy air about it, this sense of gravity in its writing and pacing. It feels "true to life", in a sense. I haven't finished it yet, but I'd be very surprised if Marie's curse got lifted in those last chapters or Dr. Nazuna ever really got anywhere in her pursuits. It isn't a story about getting that perfect outcome and making everything right, rather it's about taking things in stride, about having the courage to change the things that you can and the strength to endure those you can not. Making the best of what you have, living the moment, savoring things while you can.

Heavy stuff.

I always get the urge to cuddle afterwards. I don't think that's a bad thing, and I'm pretty sure this has already become my second favorite Manga.

Well there are 7 chapters only by now. So that's the double nadeshiko from before uh. I just hope the mad lab scientist wont become some kind of a third wheeler. Anyway, this makes me think... if Akane falls for nadeshiko, nadeshiko is basically immortal I guess but Akane will become an old lady as the times passes and ya know F. Reminds me of tonari no robot

Blossom-san is probably going to interfere. Or, which would be much more fun, help them along and watch from the sidelines with great excitement.

Tbh, my post was a sideways glance at readers who scorn fluffy series for "lack of a plot" while reading deep thematic meaning into chapters consisting entirely of fluffy flirting in series they like.

When everyone knows that flirting is plot.

Really, no one in their right mind could ever enjoy 96+ chapters of flirting and teasing, let alone also enjoy 109+ chapters of a couple doing couple things, I mean where is the plot in that, right?
There's just no audience for series like that, amirite, Komi-san, Nagatoro-san and Hori-san/Miyamura-kun?

Also you forgot to explain the "having trouble getting it" part, which would be a) feeling bashful about revealing something so intimate as having a partner and b) persistent social pressures and stigma associated with homosexuality that lead to considerable reluctance against coming out. Kinda self-explanatory, but since we're already explaining obvious things...

The mom was actually into Chiyo, Indou’s mother.

Later chapters show the we have a bad case of “It’s All My Fault,” where little Kagami’s meeting with Chiyo led to Chiyo getting transferred and eventually killed in battle, and then Kagami’s mother also blaming her.

Kagami’s mom seems to be a bit of a psychopath.

EDIT: And yeah, while I never want to slag the work of any scanlators, I can follow the story much better in this translation.

Yeah well, I've only read what's been released here (over the last three days) and all that comes as very little surprise.

Maybe it's a comfy bra, but yeah, it's a bit odd, especially since she was also wearing a sweater on top (that part my then-girlfriend did as well when she first slept over, so I can absolutely see that happening). Also note that it's not like Sora would have had massive boobs flopping about without it, so I'm pretty sure she was just really, REALLY bashful about it.

This is starting to get a bit dull. Every chapter just feels the same to me. Really hope something actually happens soon.

Well... on the one hand I get what you mean, but...
on the other hand I appreciate the author taking their time and have since become confident that they'll follow through on the things hinted at. We will have them coming out/becoming official, we likely also will witness them taking intimacy to the next level and I'm pretty sure we'll be at least getting a timeskip/flash forward at the end.

This manga originally felt like a series of construed happenstances to arbitrarily block progression, but now it feels like a soft and sweet slow burn. I will be patient.

I'm also extremely happy to see them tackling their coming out as a major step. It's the one thing I was missing in Bloom Into You and I'm excited that we're getting to see it here. (srsly, please let us have this, Kashikaze-sensei)

There are, but the tl is getting delayed due to either or both of the following things: the scanlator team having irl concerns pressing them too much; they're delaying the tl a month each time someone complains. note: I'm not part of any scanlation team, since I don't know Japanese and I lack experience and/or means to de the non-tl bits of scanlating.

Also yes, Bloom Into You is 100% worth reading. You can start right at chapter 25 after the anime because it went mostly frame-by-frame through the manga. Slight adaptations in character design and maybe dialogue pacing notwithstanding it was an extremely faithful adaptation. It is, however, worth reading the first half anyway, even if you already know it.

That was a good read. So nice and un-wholesome, kinky, yet innocent. Lovely.
