Got a few like this story recently. I suppose I enjoy watching characters get out of their comfort zone and interacting with potential friends who also have the potential to be more.

I like this so far. Very interesting take on a mutual attraction and attempting to form natural interactions with someone. High-jinks included.

There was a story here a little while ago very similar to this one . . . ending wasn't as dark. All I can think to say is the author seems to have told exactly the kind of story they wanted to tell. I suppose if I had to say there was a kind of angst I'd prefer, I go with one where the characters' actions are more understandable and flawed rather than it seeming like at least one person is just about 100% in the wrong.

er. well. then. we are going that route then. Either it's a misunderstanding or he's cheating. Neither sound very interesting. I know cliche's are unavoidable as "every story has been told" and all that. Doesn't make me any less bored with the ones I see over and over.

I'm fine with angst as long as it's well written.

I always get kinda yucked out by guys who like yuri that much

I can empathise with the thought process of being creeped out if a guy is remarking how much he likes yuri - but for me that only used to be if I was A) Scared about how he'll view my own sexuality and that'll impact how he sees me if he doesn't consider real homosexuality/bisexuality legitimate B) Worried once he finds out him talking how he wished he could see it or whatever (keep that to yourself man) C) Fear of sexuality erasure in general I guess??

I've worked through those feelings now and learnt that generally guys won't say such things as I think female sexuality is becoming better acknowledged than maybe the world my dad grew up in based on the warnings he drilled into me as a kid and when he found out about my girlfriends and such. But hey, if guys (and girls) are thinking ~lewd~ things, if it doesn't impact how they treat me and my relationships with girls as serious and more than a fantasy then I don't care.

The moment we start policing fantasies is the moment we open up a whole pandoras box of what could be considered an "ok" fantasy then. As long as the fantasy isn't getting in the way of someones perception of reality it's kinda unhealthy to consider it dangerous or icky? But I empathise if you worry about people going beyond your boundaries or whatever just for their fetish/fantasy/whatever.

I'm probably creepier anyways because whenever yuri comes out in English or I order some Japanese Editions or Yuri Hime I get so damn excited and weird like Yuri Lover-Kun hahaha

Yeah. I think we humans tend to look for things out of the ordinary to be weary of. A suspicious person can be just as unsettling as a person who "smiles to much." Passionate people can really resemble my later example. It sucks and it's not always fair as neither of these traits mean the person is any danger at all but we probably have these instincts for a reason. They probably just need patches and updates sometimes.

I think pretty much all passions are fine and respect those that can go all out but think they should be considerate of their surroundings. Especially the farther they are from a frame of reference XP. People cheering at a rock concert or sporting event wouldn't be unusual but if you are the only one doing it in the street at 3am it would seem a little strange.

I like yuri but I just don't behave the way the character in this story does about anything really.

Can't say I find these two fellows all that interesting honestly. Not against it but even if they were both girls I think I'd still be pretty underwhelmed by the idea of them getting together. Which is just how I feel about a LOT of leads even when it's not yuri.
The humor isn't to my tastes so far but will stick around to see if the females or, scratch that, any of the side characters prove more interesting.

Probably just my luck but so many of the few adult life yuri stories i find involve a couple having sex before actually dating. They are usually pretty good anyway but it does make me wonder . . .
I seem to be the only one who doesn't know what Shaft is.
This seems alright. don't think I will find it interesting at all of the other two are in love with either leads but I will give it a shot if it goes that way.

Aw! Sorry to hear that. If I ever do any stories I will be sure to keep this in mind. Some one mentioned this a while back and I plumb forgot about it.

I did like this story though. Pretty good description of what it's like to be stuck on someone. At least she ends a relationship before going on to another one rather than cheating. Relationships are messy and some continue even after cheating has occurred and been found out. Wouldn't know the stats on this though but if at least one returned to good health I don't think you can say it "never happens."

I actually did almost half a story about a half human half dragon woman and an arrogant princess who was cursed with the tail and the speed of a fox. The princess forces the dragon girl into service for a time. yuri happnes.

Got another one about a werewolf pretending to be a soldier while secretly fighting a rival pack and what might be a white witch in charge of healing the townsfolk. then. yuri happens.

many of my other ideas start with just using more of the character types and settings I wish was in yuri more. I want action. Superheroes. Sci-fi. Delinquent girl types. Gyaru girl types. Oh. And arrogant Karin Kanzuki types. More actual dating. More flirting. Trying to improve my art skills to make these things happen.

Couldn't agree more. FF13 has frustrated me to insane levels because it had ALL the prerequisites for writing good drama in fantastic context (my favorite thing in fiction), yet squandered all of them so meticulously, as if the writers were doing it on purpose. To boot: Lightning is a woman who got too much responsibility too soon in life, and estranged herself from her beloved sister because she thought she knew better what was good for Serah; Sazh is a single father coping with the fact that his son was taken from him by the government for something neither of them had any control over (isn't it any parent's worst nightmare?); Snow is an idealistic, if insecure idiot with too much energy and charisma who has the understanding that reality doesn't just magically turn out the way he wants painfully beaten into him; Hope is a boy coping with the death of his irresponsible, but loving mother by bonding with a woman who has clearly proven herself to be an utterly incapable mother figure; and Vanille has a massive guilt complex for what happened to Sazh's son when she and Fang awoke, and much more for holding Fang back during their first attack on Cocoon, and thus failing their mission and ensuring the extinction of their native civilization. Fang, in fact, seems to be the only main character who has clear goals and very little drama in her life, which actually serves as a nice counterbalance to the other five.

Pfft. I was gonna say that. but you did. so. Yeah. We don't even need to see how I would have worded it and that it would have been just as well written. Nope.

The only FF game I played before 13 was the u.s version of 3 which is actually different in Japan if I remember correctly. As mush as I disliked 13, I spent more time with those characters than I usually did with games up to that point. I have some odd fondness for it. Especially the music. I like Lightning but I don't blame anyone who hates her based on how she has been written in all of the 13 games. I really like her sister in 13-2. I'd even ship them but I don't really care for incest and going A.U just seems . . . excessive.

I was actually thinking back on "another part" that was considered a yuri moment between Fang and Vanille the other day.

Most surprising take away for me. Low numbers of straight women. Was really hoping they were just reading whatever had love in. Shucks.
I did think straight males like myself made up about 30% of the fandom.

I don't count too many of the really popular manga among my favorite stories. They even turned a few into animes which had me like, "yay! Yuri being made into anime but why did they pick these ones?!"

I suppose the last question threw me a little bit. Initially I was like, none of these are my primary reason for liking yuri. But I guess "liking women" was the closest. It just seemed so broad i guess. I like characters. I just happen to find romance between women immensely interesting. But they gotta be great characters first. I won't go outta my way for boys love stories but If it shows up in something I'm enjoying already I'm OK with that.
