I loved this chapter. I knew it was going to be something other than the obvious, but my god, the author did a fantastic job of drawing the gag out and pushing it as far as possible before the reveal. A+ writing!

Shaft is putting out a spinoff based on the mobile game this year. It can't possibly be as good though.

This is not self reflection. She's assuming the worst of their relationship without seeing any positives. It's something you do when you're depressed and have anxiety problems. I know from first hand experience. I'm also intimately familiar with that head-in-arms-on-desk slouch. My first year of high school is not one I remember fondly.

Now that I think about it, I relate a lot more to Hino-san than I previously thought.

Blastaar's right, Mochi is the one who consistently glorifies incest and reguarly uses blackmail and drugs as plot devices, so I think expecting any more from her is indeed too optimistic.

That kind of makes the occasional golden ideas she has all the more delightful though.

If the genders were switched and it turned into yuri I wonder if it'd still be considered "gross" as some comments have been. There's a good amount of plots that have shady dealings in public area's that end up yuri which don't have comments crying foul.

I have had bad experiences with bringing up this double standard around here... I just try not to let it get to me too much, but yeah, this stuff is bad no matter what gender is involved.
I think the actual reason people are not too critical with it in Mochi's works is that she always gives the characters a happy end and ignores the bad implications for a more fantastic version of it.

This is one of the reasons I like this. I'm much more willing to push through, or even overlook plot points I don't like if there is a happy ending. Please let Gakkougurashi have a happy ending!

The world always needs more SF yuri.

As a writer this has become something I've been writing more of lately.

Because there wasn't nearly enough for me out there as a reader (though I'm always open for more).

That and more action/adventure yuri would be awesome. (and if anyone has suggestions I'm totally up for the reads)

Check out Murcielago. It's your basic ex-killer working for the police to catch killers, except the lead is a psychotic lesbian. At one point she saves a little girl just because she thinks her single mother is hot, and she ends up sleeping wiwth her in one of the bonus chapters. It's really gory and sometimes quite disturbing, but it also has some damn funny and hard hitting jokes, as well as insane amounts of over-the-top action (cars driving up buildings and the like) It's got great fanservice and fun characters. It also helps that the art is absolutely phenomenal. It's the only manga that I actually buy all the chapters of as they come out, partially because it's not being fan translated or uploaded anymore, but also because it desperately needs an animated adaptation of some kind.

Now if only this happened without all those chapters of filler, cliffhangers and unrelated drama, I'd actually love it.

Yeah, the author has some real talent with the shot framing and writing in these dramatic scenes, but my god, just drop the tropey teasing crap.

The story moves a bit fast, and it seems a bit weird to announce major plot points before they happen and then treat it like a surprise, but the prospect of selfcest has me hooked. I'm also a real sucker for sci-fi yuri and androids are great too.
