*I mean, Sumiko could just focus on the storyline developing at school at this point and the bands they talk about would not really be the focal point, but a part of me still hopes they will have some gushing moments and get too close after talking about a certain indie band they thought no one else listened to.

I was about to cry so hard from the lack of Sakurako on this one... I am still displeased because the original series was dropped after the seggs arc but oh well...

This latest chapter is funny and cute. No problem there.
But I'm very annoyed at something this series has been doing for a while and this is the worst instance of it yet.

What the hell happened between chapters?! This is astronomically unsatisfying.
Last we saw these two they were having a major moment in their relationship, a confrontation that had been a long time coming and should have been revelatory for both of them about what their feelings are, what their relationship is and will be, what they had been doing up to that point and potentially so much more.
Instead we skip to school?! And they're... chill? What is their relationship? Mitsuki asked a very direct question and I guess Aya just didn't answer? That must have been awkward... Was it? What was the dialogue between these two in the moment? We don't have definitive answers to any of these questions because it seems there is a mandatory time skip between all chapters. Either we get the important events in 4 pages or we just have to catch up and guess when the next 4 arrive.
This latest chapter should have been a direct continuation of the previous one. Even if the conversation had to conclude with "I don't have an answer yet" or something along the lines of that trope, we needed to see it happen.

Aya answered the (reader’s) question at the beginning of the chapter.

That leaves up to our imagination what happened after she said yes, but given how Mitsuki is behaving, it was a crude “Ok I will be your friend”, with Koga not noticing Aya was hesitant, and then the party came to an end and they went back home (we need to remember Aya was on duty, taking care of the lighting (?) of the party and these mfs are too awkward to decide to hang out after the afterparty in order to talk it all out, they are dumb teenagers after all)

Being a 4-page manga, pacing is indeed an issue in this story, but I think that sometimes it is justified to just skip and give incomplete answers to the readers since the answers themselves are trivial. We know at the beginning of the chapter that they did not have a full conversation, because if they did, we’d get to see it. The author is simply skipping the boring parts and leaving it for flashbacks and assumptions which, given the format, is ok imo.

I’m just going to make a compilation of the comments so I can get my point across.

Mitsuki still being the smoothest idiot ever I see. No matter any ambivalent wording about "crush" or "oshi", I think that last scene very clearly showed how Aya is still crushing on Mitsuki and who can blame her?

Yeah, that blush on the last page especially speaks volumes all on its own xD

I love that Oosawa-san STILL sees her as a crush and is just as effected by her.. They might start as friends but I can't see them not moving beyond that if she doesn't get over being smitten by her lol.

Now we can say that this story is, without a doubt, Yuri (or if the author doesn’t want to slap that label on it, “Girl’s Love”)

I don’t think Mitsuki is in love with Aya yet. At least she is not aware of it. She references the whole situation as friendship issues, it is clear in her talks with Narita (Jerkface-kun). If romance was a factor, things would be much more complicated and she’d admit it to her confidant, even if they are not close — or we would at least have a thought from her indicating that she’s not 100% talking about friendship.
Mitsuki is dense. And your point is true: she thinks that Aya wouldn’t see her as a romantic option after knowing she’s a girl. So, why develop feelings? Mitsuki is not aware she also likes Aya, she doesn’t know it’s an option. Gloomy girl was too preoccupied with clearing out the misunderstanding and having a friend (or, as we see it, maintaining a relationship with someone who seems to really understand her — something special that she is only partly aware of).

It seemed pretty obvious that Aya is and will continue to be aware of her feelings more than Mistuki. It's ok Mitsuki, take your time figuring out the gay.

I want Aya to be do blatantly obvious about her still having a crush on Mitsuki that we get to see gloomy girl panicking.

She did. And that’s why her face screams “IS THIS BITCH FOR REAL?” at the end of the chapter

Also, the “once you’ve heard it, you’ll crave for more” just screams that she wants more to this relationship imo.

A breakdown nobody asked for, to make my point clear:

(1) Music can be so cruel
-> Music is what links the two of them. It’s what hurt her on Chapter 18 (“This is the first time my beloved music is trying to kill me”). To me it serves as a representative to their relationship.
Music is what has been guiding her relationship with her crush. It’s what nade her find out she was deceived and is what made her dumbstruck when hearing Mitsuki perform. (Call it a ‘kyaaa’ moment if you wanna see it through that lens)

(2) because once you’ve heard it
-> Now that Mitsuki is addressing the issue upfront, now that her (former?) crush wants to make amends, now that “Onii-san” is seeking for forgiveness. Now that music finally served as a way to comfort her (regarding her crush) once again, instead of bringing the pain it did on the 18th chapter

(3) you’ll crave for more.
-> She wants more of this music. She wants to be close to her (former?) crush. The music represents them, she wants more to it.

Imo you don’t show a character absolutely at a loss for words and say “you’ll crave for more”, specially given the context (so far Aya has been attracted to Mitsuki — in her job persona —, and we haven’t got any confirmation that she is over it now that she knows it’s a girl)

Is Mitsuki consciously or unconsciously gay about this musical apology? She's making a traditionally romantic gesture towards Aya who she already charmed before, and Mitsuki should know that.

The less Mitsuki thought this through, the funnier.

Considering her track record, I think she just went “oh we both like music so i should pick a song she likes to show her we are similar when i reveal myself”.
We gotta remember that Mitsuki has no idea that Aya already knows. She is guilty for lying but things she will come clean by performing — in her head it’s probably not act an apology for lying and hurting her, because the lie wasn’t found out (she thinks).

despite being mad at Mitsuki, Aya still wants some kind of understanding and she's definitely going to get it.

We playing bets on what song she's gonna sing? Maybe the song Playlist that she sent her.
