I wish I hadn't brought this up; it's exhausting even to think about it. I do have a question, though, for those of you who have read the Hibike novels. All I read was a lot of the material relating to Kumiko and Reina through a fan translation. In it, what I picked up wasn't yuri of the sort they were suggesting in the first season of the show, but the ambiguity of an erotically charged friendship. So it made sense that Kumiko ended up with a guy (sort of maybe). Is this true? Because I did not get the sense that KyoAni picked up the yuri stuff wholesale from the novels.

^^ What's funny is that Chika knows Hayasaka at school, by name, but doesn't associate her with Kaguya, and somehow doesn't notice a link between her and the guy at Kaguya's house. What I love is that Chika is so chaotic and disruptive that the controlling Hayasaka sees her as the #1 adversary, but of course Chika loves Hayasaka.

This is actually their status quo. Kaguya is het as she can get, but Chika would probably make an exception of any sort for Kaguya.

I feel really sorry for the two of them. They're both misfits, Uchi secretly and seriously, and their encounters are like two magnets touching at the positive poles. Touch, bounce, misunderstand, touch, bounce, what the fuck...
