Not gonna lie, I feel like a Romance from Junji Ito would be pure gold. It'd be like the manga about his cats. Not a horror, but still horrifying at times cause he doesn't change his artstyle to reflect the genre change at all.

This might be the first time I've seen accidental eavesdropping directly advance a relationship rather than be a source for a misunderstanding drama that eventually advances the relationship.

I like it, more manga should do this.

We need a tag for stuff like this where the ending will crank up the waterworks but it's not really tragedy.

I reread this the other day and upon finishing it I immediately wanted to pick it up again. Girl Friends is, to me, a yuri hall of famer. First-time enjoyment may partially be related to age (e.g. for teen me this story was stupidly relatable), but it also just a very well-rounded story. Even with newer series this one has not lost its charm.

Honestly, with only a small handful of exceptions, I would say all of the author's work is worth reading and rereading.

Not gonna lie, the "I don't care as long as it's Yuri" option for the "favorite genres outside of Yuri" gave me a really good laugh.

I guess this page wasn't enough for people to see that the knife was a visual metaphor. Mayu is not actually threatening to murder her girlfriend; the danger here is making her sad, which is being exaggerated for comedic effect.

She tracked down the baker. That is insane.

And even with the knife being just in the girl's head, that her mental state defaults to that imagery points to a huge issue with the relationship. A crippling fear of disappointing your girlfriend based on it happening it before isn't good.

Like, I get this is supposed to be played up for comedy, but I just don't find it funny. It's the same as me not finding abuse played up as slapstick funny.

This one's an easy recommendation. It's easily one of the best looking manga on the entire site.

I mean, does it being presented in a light hearted matter make it any less of an unhealthy relationship? I enjoy some yandere stuff and still acknowledge that it's not healthy.

I see it in Het stuff from time to time, but it is definitely more common in Yuri.
