What I find intriguing about Mimei is not just that she's clearly in love with Kasane, but also: (a) she knows Meguru is Kasane's type and (b) she looked (and apparently acted) almost exactly like Meguru in high school. Makes me wonder if Kasane perhaps confessed to Mimei in high school, got rejected, and now Mimei regrets it.

I hope that this is true and Hijiki just goes 180 on us and the friend wins for a change.

I didn’t realize they’re in-game characters. Anyways, I was referring to mafuyu’s mother: she should have kept better tabs on her daughter as ena is halfway there to derail mafuyu’s education. As for the dad, I don’t care as there wasn’t enough inferences as to how mean he is. Maybe allowing mafuyu (and readers) to overhear a telephone conversation between Ena and her dad would portray the father as abusive or insensitive (to Ena’s wishes to become a painter).

The whole point of doujins is that it's up to the readers to know the background. Saying "I don't know and don't care" about a work based on an existing setting is dumb.

I like Uda x Riri as a ship and it was obvious this was the route for Uda, but I feel the author didn't really do a good job setting up their chemistry for me. We are told Uda crushes on Riri, but I don't think there was enough set up yet to really convince me why Uda likes Riri. So far it feels pretty forced and thus awkwardly paced to me even though I am looking forward to where this side pair will go.

Why does there need to be a reason for it not to feel forced?

I dummo why i find kinda funny that the MC gets sunch a big dump of misery in a few pages. Mom died, job lost, marriage disolved, dad collapsed, jeez.

It gets a little hard to see it as the story of a person and not a caricature when you get what is clearly a stock tragic backstory with minimum alteration.

I swear the last time the volleyball Kouhai showed up at the end of the chapter she told Shino she loves her.. right? and then she hasn't show up since.... did I miss a follow up chapeter or am I remembering everything wrong??? I would've preferred if the junior girl won in the end and Maki remained a friend. The skip from "friend with a crush on someone else" to "loves her back" was too jarring and kinda ruined it for me.
