Nah, it is fine xD Actually I have a bit mixed feeling about it, it felt both kinda average and rushed, but at the same time it felt like it was executed well enough. But the characters were so cute and it was so gay that I enjoyed watching it overall.

OAO there's loooaadddss of them here in the UK ;3 however, girls school sometimes tend to be catholic ones so they are quite strict about clothing and rules and there are even nuns in some schools! O-o (like in typical yuri manga pure all girls setting XD). lucky I just went to a normal girls school, and i remember i actually really loved the short time I spent there =w=

I don't think so. At least I never heard of one. Our schools are not too strict about cloths in general. We got those catholic schools though and yes they can be pretty strict. And have nuns and priests too. I never went to one. But having nuns and priests teaching religion in even normal school is pretty common. Ok I know there was 1 nun teaching it in elementary but except for that it was usually priest or normal teacher. And yes in our country you are free to believe what you want but we still have religion lessons in schools and they usually focus only on catholic religion, because most people here are catholic and so are our people in our government and so they thinks everyone is a catholic so a lot rules etc. are enforced based on catholic believes so while technically there is no official religion, in practice we are catholic country. I don't think I have to say how I feel about it as a atheist lesbian. But anyway I digress, I'm glad you liked your time spend there ;3 And yes, but jps have no clue about religion so their representations of them in mangas are usually pretty exaggerated xD

I was on my usaual train to school and i would always get a caffe latte at my favourite cafe on the way, but one day i was feeling very um, "adult" so I was like right, i need to keep myself awake cos I was really sleepy that day, so i dicided to order an Esspresso. ooohhh @//w//@ sounds to me like you really enjoyed this anime, it must be very good then!

Well I really got into it and enjoyed it immensely. I thought it was really funny, but had some epic and emotional moments as well. Also it was doing a lot of tropes inversions and playing with your expectations which I love when series does. It is kinda hit or miss I guess, depending what you are looking for but for me it was a definite hit.

I remember getting to the second episode after which i stopped for some reason, but maybe i just didnt get into the story yet, ad its pretty funny how fast he said he loved her in the first episode so i'm intersted where it leads XD Maybe it was also the 50 minuet log eiposdes that put me off because i like to watch stuff in short snippets =A=

Yes, I can see how long episodes could be a factor too. I didn't mind it cos the build up before every fight was important, if not actually most important part of every episode. And I really liked the interactions of characters so I didn't mind when they keep on going for a while.

Yea true. Friend told me all about how much they fucked it up, especially with first movie trying to be more of a original story and then second movie trying to be more faithful to the game while also tying to the first movie. It was a clusterfuck. And we watched second movie in 3D which was terrible! I don't like 3D in general, but here it was just garbage. Effects were really bad and you couldn't see half the things cos the movie was really dark.

That dog ending... well... if you managed to get that one while playing the game the first time... that really must have sucked! ^^

EDIT: Okay, I actually went back and re-read volume 5~ I don't believe it's explained why the guy broke the syringe. Some people have theorized that it's a similar suppressant/antidote that Kurumi used earlier in the series, but why he didn't inject it in himself is a mystery. Maybe his appearance was just to show that there are still survivors even outside of the school? This isn't confirmed or mentioned anywhere canonically, but my personal speculation is that the syringe he was holding might not have been a cure at all and could be the very virus that spreads the zombie disease.

Yes. I thought he was infected by virus and had the similar cure that Kurumi used, but then why he didn't inject himself with it but instead crashed it? It didn't look like he destroy it by accident but rather choose to not cure himself and destroy it. Also if he knew he was infected, why he didn't cure himself before going off? So my next thought was if he wanted to infect girls instead, but then again. If the thing he was was a virus then why he crushed it? Why try to inject himself if he clearly was infected already? Or he was infected to infect them and had a cure in case he wont make it, so he can cure himself and then find another way to infect them, but changed his mind and decided to spare them and let helicopter crash instead. It doesn't help that either way it seemed like it was suggested that this person or some kind of group found the messages that girls were sending and instead of helping them, it looked like they went there to just screw them. I know bad stuff happens in life and there are all sort of groups trying to push their agendas, but still I hate those kind situations where you are reward with bad things for doing good etc. Like they survived so long, manage to let other people know they are doing ok and then those other people that they reached come there and destroyed everything. And that is main grip with this entire situation. Because it is so confusing and unclear, it just seems like entire point of it was to just force them to leave the school. As if author wanted girls to leave it, but didn't know how to make it look naturally and make sense, since they got everything there, so he had to come up with some way to ruin it.

In any case, I think his appearance was just to let the audience know that there are other people beyond their high school and that not all hope is lost. The helicopter crash helps move the plot along, and in case you haven't read further into volume 5 yet, I won't spoil anything. I will say that the chapters following the crash speaks loads about our main characters thus far. Yuki is a bit more different than how she was first introduced (see: http://www.punipunijapan.com/neko-o-kaburu/), meanwhile the rest of the main characters have also changed in some way. We can discuss it more if you want after you've finished the volume!

We just got next, 6 volume released that is why I got new avatar. It ends on chapter 36 just in case. Yes I know what you are talking about, but still the way the plot was moved forward did felt a bit forced. Also on the subject on the cure. I found it really interesting. At first I was surprised cos it seemed like auhtor was going for killing a main character, which I'd applaud if they did cos that take some guts, but then I also had mixed feelings cos Kurumi is my favorite character, but then it turned out they just so happened to have a cure. It felt a bit cheep, even if there were hints that maybe someone is experimenting with zombifying and they were preparing for things go sore like that. But in 6 volume it turned out that the cure either wasn't perfect or process can't be completely reversed, which I was both surprised about and intrigued with. Cos I didn't expect it to have such lasting consequences but it does. It seems that Kurumi is like half zombie. She either can't generate warm or is way colder than normal person and zombies either can't sense her because of lack of heat or they treat her as one of them. I wonder how much of a zombie she is and how much it affected her. I'm really curious where it will go cos it is something I didn't read about before.

Also, I never really shipped anyone from Gakkou Gurashi, but I can see Mii-kun x Kurumi over everyone else any day. :')

Well people here joke about yuri goggles but I never used them. I like yuri etc. but I usually ship people and such only when I really feel/see the subtext/text and while I like all the cast and I felt like there could be something between Yuki and Yuuri, at first when Miki was introduced she had a vibe with Yuki, but then her relationship with Kurumi really got closer and this last volume just made it so easy for me to ship them, especially that scene from my avatar ♥ And it does help that I like Kurumi the best from all character and Miki is probably second.

So in it the helicopter finds the school, but the guy in it is either affected by the virus or something else, he tries to cure himself but he breaks it, which leads to him crashing next to school and ruining life for girls. So... wtf was that about? Is it explained later? Did I miss something?

Well drinking coffee is supposedly healthy and in some diets it was suggested as only thing for breakfast, but yea, it gets pretty addictive and also drinking too much during day can be bad. Not to mention you can't drink it if you actually want to go to sleep. So much restrictions with it.

Nah np ;3 Role playing game is a game where there is some setting, like a world and rules how your characters, their abilities etc. affect the world. You usually use dice to decided the outcome of events and your characters have stats like intelligent, appearance, strength etc. which you increase by leveling up character by gaining experience through sessions. There is a rulebook that has all those things explained and based on it you create your own character. One player is a Game Master, they are like the gods of the world, they create how it looks based on setting, create neutral characters and act for them and basically create a story for other players so they can play and interact in this world. And all this is basically in imagination. The original idea was for sever people to gather, create their characters and then through regular sessions progress in game. Some stuff depends on setting, but basically the idea is that you make your own character you can "role-play" and experience a unique story through them. I guess like writing a book or playing a game but where you can do literally everything. You can also play it over chat if you are unable to meet in on place how it was in my case cos we were all from different countries. Playing like that has its cons and pros though.

And later it was adapted into normal video games, but clearly the trade off was that it wasn't truly unlimited anymore and you couldn't role-play your character any way you want. And then later those "rpg elements" got popular and everyone started to shoehorn them into every kind of game, so rpg become more know for having stats and lvling your character up rather than the whole "role-playing" it.

The game we played was called Vampire Masquerade, so we were basically a bunch of vampires hiding in current times. My character belonged to clan that can shapeshift into one chosen animal and I choose cat... cos I love them 8D Seriously thought, I just got a idea for character that was pretty detached from world and cat-like from nature so once she was turned into vampire she just realized she prefer to lives her life as a cat than a human and so she did. That was her background and the session picked up from the moment she meet rest of players and was forced to go with them, but you get the idea ;3

Also funny fact, I never really named her cos I suck at coming up with names and I just left it for later, so for entire time I just had her character sheet named Kitty. And all others players adapted to call her Kitty before we started so once we did, they were so used to it, they never asked her for her name. Well they did later once I mentioned it and I was going to answer "I forgot", cos she spend like 30 years as a cat so she pretty much forgot all about her past life and it did fit into her character, but that was still kinda funny and lame way for me to avoid naming her xD

ahaha it does have a cute ending i pretty sure so yeh, if you ever feel like it pick up watching it again! >wO

Oh, Katanagatari! I loved this show! I know it is based on light novel and that it is very dialog heavy, but I liked the main characters interaction so much I totally didn't mind. And the show looks beautifully and has one of best soundtracks I ever listen too. I still listen to it regularly. And of course I liked the plot. Except for 1 confrontation, to me the entire series was just a masterpiece. You totally should watch it when you can and we can talk about it then! Also funny fact, I was watching it as it was airing and it was airing monthly, because the idea of the show is that since start of first episode, the episode + time between episodes, takes 1 month so by releasing it monthly (all episodes did were the double length, but still) you will spend the same amount of time watching as it took the characters to complete the story. I thought that was a really unique and interesting way to air/promote anime.

I read in some interview. Basically when they were agreeing to adapt it into anime, he made a ultimatum. I believe it was something like manga has to be at least 8 volumes ahead before they can make another season.

But yes, that was a wise choice. That way it will stay true to the original work.

Sure, they took some liberties here and there, but I agree, it works in the favor of the anime. They will have enough material to adapt, so they won't have to worry about stretching stuff to fit into episodes. Actually it just shows how much author values his work. Usually they make next season right away when the series is fresh and people are hyped, but usually they are forced to filler it or rush or there is never second season (unless they didn't plan to make it in the first place). It is clear author didn't want anime to be turned into another money grab and wanted for it to be made with the same care he puts into his manga. I don't know if you know this, but originally he went to shounen jump to publish it, but he was rejected. They told him the art was too dark and ugly and there was too much dark stuff, so he was supposed to make it more friendly and, well, more shounen like in general. But he refused and kept on looking for different publishers until he found the one that accepted his idea. It just shows how much he don't like bending his vision to other peoples whims and since series become such a hit despite its art style and dark themes, we can safely say that he made a right choice.

Wish they had done the same for some other ongoing manga/anime stuff as well.
I'm not a big fan of filler episodes either.

Finished listening to Silent Hill soundtrack and it was good as well ;3 It reminded me. I never played any game (watched both movies with friend that was fan of games so she told me everything that was wrong with them) but I heard it can be pretty troll-ly at times. I still can't believe not only there is so many ending, but one of them is that dog did it XD

Me too! I do know some later spoilers, especially about what we know about Titans because I'm so curious about it. I hope the second season deliver as well ;3 Also I have to say it was really smart move on mangaka part. He only allowed to make anime and each new season when enough manga material will be written, so each season while have the same amount of actual stuff in it and it wont be filled with filler or stretched out so it will fit the number of episodes. And the quality of the show itself will only gain from it.

Yup! Cats are so adorable isn't they @__@? I can feel you on that xD In one session of rpg I made a character that could change into a cat and she basically preferred that form x3 And she acted like actual cat as well xD Even other players told me my impression of cat was totally convincing. I guess I can become one with the cats 8D

I watched it until 7 episode or so. It was pretty funny though I couldn't shake the fear they will end it in het. Actually I have no clue why I stopped watching it. I have a thing like that sometimes where I watch/read something and then at random point my interest in it disappears or something. Idk, maybe I'll try picking it up again later.

Agree. It is so rare nowadays. Most people just care about money and profit instead of creating something good that will move people.

OldBoy is one of my all time favorite movies and one of the things that totally blew my mind was the soundtrack. It just crawls under your skin...

I can feel you. It was like that for me with Attack on Titan. I heard about manga, but didn't really got interested in checking it out, even thought I heard it was being praised and gaining in popularity, but then anime came out, I check it out of curiosity and that soundtrack just sold me on the show! It was so epic, dramatic, giving me shivers and all! And the execution of anime was just too good. People point flaws but imo, they did a great job where it counted. And thanks to that now I'm a huge fan of the series and got all available volumes, since we got it published in Poland. Actually, here you have the soundtrack, since it was what I was listening to back then when I was posting, but wasn't sure if I should recommend it or not cos it is kinda a mainstream series so you probably heard it anyway, but here you go (second soundtrack imo isn't as good, but maybe you will like it).

Yes, we got most of popular stuff on one of basic channels. Dragon Ball and Z, Saint Seiya, Sailor Moon. It was with voice over though and they used the french version. I almost don't remember anything from SS or SM cos I was too little when it was airing. Same for DB. I only really remember and watched DBZ and mostly Cell saga and Buu saga. And not all episodes. Oh and of course Pokemon. I don't remember if DB or DBZ got dubbed at some point, but Pokemon was dubbed from the start. Later they stopped airing it so one channel that was about games etc. and was airing from 21:00 over night decided to start show some stuff, like Serial Experiments Lain, Fullmetal Alchemist, NGE, Gundam Wing. That is what I remember at least. I think they got Escaflowne later, but I didn't watch it. They also went the serious route and were using subtitles. I think they stopped after some time too, though. And then of course we got some stuff on For Kids, it was fully dubbed too but of course it was American channel so they were using the edited versions and it was dubbed but in terrible way. They had some good dubs, but for most part they were just using 4 people they just happened to have for everything. Like we were joking they were picking janitor for some parts cos they lacked people. From stuff I saw/remember there was Shaman King and later Naruto. When they were airing Naruto I already saw it online, so I could see the badness of FK version and couldn't handle it at the same time.
