Yes I was talking about it and imaginary rape scene. Neither really happens and imo first is pretty good way to illustrated what is currently happening to characters (I understand why it rubbed some people the wrong way though) and second actually let me see the character in much better, badass light, because so far she didn't really do anything that impressive, but this scene and stuff she said really sold to me that she has been through some real shit. Imo it is worth watching at least once. The fanservice almost disappears half way through (it didn't bother me as much, cos it made sense in the context of the story most of the time) and story gets darker. It is far from masterpiece and have 2 controversial scenes (that last 20 sec max and imo people just blow it out of proportion), but overall it was pretty good experience for me. And whatever you think of entire show, I think final battle kicked some ass.

There is quite a bit yuri mangaka drawing VD:Mermaid doujins and stuff and there is almost no het porn, so it seems at least anime got a real yuri following and turned out to attract more girls than you would expect. After all the show is all about girls making out with each other.

Well it's technically not dropped. It only lost translator. As far as I know cleaner and typesetter said nothing about abandoning project.

Wish it happened in actual show. Sadly it would be too gay for kids and they had to think about selling it to other countries as well, so they needed to monitor what is put in it, to not offend anyone.

Individually maybe. But Chi-chan has the x3 factors. That is hard to beat

Well to me she is few times more adorable than them. I could read a entire spin off just about her. In fact I like to re-read the 2 biggest chapters with her from time to time.

Centaur's worries first episode was great. Really solid adaptation and they really amped the yuri. I like that they use the yuri side couple in opening. In general the series treats it as a normal thing, but it's great to see them being treat equally with other couples in opening.

It was cancelled. Authors usually don't lose interest in their work, rather people do and when something is not popular there is no point making more of it. It's not easy to be mangaka in Japan.

Monster girl yuri? Check me in! Well the skirt pull was a bit cringy, but Niina assaulting Sakura could be either foreshadowing her being a Succubus or Niina just got horny. The crotch diving scene didn't really bother me as it actually came naturally and wasn't dragged on (the same as the skirt pull). Author adds bit of fanservice but so far I'd say they don't go beyond good taste. Sakura's big boobs are also pretty distracting as I'm not fan of, but maybe it is next foreshadowing of her being a succubus. I like our Namia and Centuar and Harppy is cute too, so for now I'm definitely going to keep reading it. And I don't really mind Sakura character wise. About the whole Succubus thing, I actually wouldn't mind if she turned out to be one, but I guess her being human would be ok as well. In fact, while I like characters that suffer from some kind of sickness, I have a feeling it might be tied to her being a Succubus as well. Like she is half-aijin (quarter?) and because of that her aijin traits only appeared in her puberty and that is why she got sick? She was becoming more of Succubus which strained her body, but she got better now, because the process is closer to end. And that is why her parents (grandpa?) had no issue sending her to this school, because they knew she is aijin. Why they didn't tell her? Manga logic x3.

EDIT/ Right about lying thing. Well it is common thing in those kind of scenario, but here she was clearly pushed to do it. She wants to fit in and everyone said how it is better when there are only aijin around and before she even made any decision Niina said she is sure she is Succubus and everyone got so excited Sakura wasn't able to tell the truth and disappoint them. You can clearly see she kinda went with the flow without thinking because as soon a she realized what she did, she knew it was bad idea, but at this point she couldn't back off from it.

I agree some of old fan subs used to overuse stuff like that, but now even they admit it's not way to go (I think at least most of them).

Anyway, I don't think money is really a main factor here. Some translators just aren't good at translating. Just because you understand language doesn't mean you can translate it well into other language so it will sound natural etc. And some publishers just doesn't care as much, they just want to have work translated and sold. Some focus on good quality more. I didn't say all official translations are terrible, but some definitely cut the corners. Best example I can give from top of my head, is how Ghibli movie were released here, until anime died for good. You had option for english dub and japanese original sound, but you only had 1 subtitles. For english dub. So if you wanted to watch it in japanes, you would need to use english dub subtitles, which more than often didn't even match what was said. When I first watch it like that I didn't mind, but once I started to understand language more, I couldn't watch it with subtitles, because the difference was so distracting, but on the other hand I wasn't able to watch it without them. So yea, they only bothered to translated english version because it was easier to get a random person who can speak english and pay them to tl it instead of looking for someone who speak japanese as well. And for some time our movies were clearly tl like that as well. Just find person who know english and make them tl movie. There is plenty of translators here, but they mostly work on official documents etc. I doubt they could easily translate book and make it as good as original. As I said, just because you know language, doesn't mean you are good at translating. There is not that many people who actually get a feel for stuff like that.

Just because someone is paid, doesn't mean they are doing better job. In fact most fan translations actually put way more effort into it than "professional" translators. Some of subtitles for movies that were in cinemas here were translated half-assed making you wonder how the hell did they get paid for it.

Do you know how joke works? It's not about making sense. Joke is supposed to be funny. Comparing kanji (japanese signs) to moon language is funny because, you are saying it's something totally alien to us and you need special people aka moon interpreters (translators) to even understand it. Nobody is going to look at actually meaning of word japanese and try to make up a joke based on it. Also apparently the joke originated from The Tick, so go blame them for it.

PD: I don't get who someone can name the japanese version like "moon version" if japanese is writting "日本語", where the 日 means "day, sun", 本 means "origin" and 語 menas "idiom". Japan is writting 日本 and that's why some people call that country "Land of the rising Sun", so call a japanese version like "moon" has no sense xD
