How does Hanamaru misinterpret "Pocky" as "bean sprouts"? I'm assuming it's Japanese wordplay that doesn't translate into English.

For the record, I have no idea where Maru got the idea, if there's wordplay, it went over my head, or I would have put a note. It might just be because they're also long and thin and several, like pocky?

Yes — 11 November is Pocky Day for the same reason as it is Bean Sprout Day; you line up four of each and it's 11-11. You're probably more likely to hear about Pocky Day online, and Bean Sprout Day at your local market, so.
