I just watched the first two eps of Korra, I see now why this series is so popular. Aside from the yuri that is. ;)

Legend of Korra is awesome. Personally I think it's better than Avatar or at least Avatar wasn't as good as everyone makes it to be. It is great show but far from perfect.

You must be joking... ATLA is 10 times better than LoK. Better characters, better story, better chemistry, stronger bending and just better over all.
Apart from few scenes LoK was bad, season 3 is the only one I don't mind re-watching. Love triangle was painful, main group had no real connection, sloppy story, weaker bending and etc.
Better animation but that's honestly the only thing I can praise it for.

@Anubis3200 I agree with you. I just didn't want to start an argument, but oh well. It was more powerful bending in ATLA because there was the Lightning the Firebenders used more often, where in LOK you only see Makko use it in the last episode, to break out of prison, and when he had his first job at the beginning of the first season. Aang when he entered the Avatar state he used all elements and it looked awesome. Korra's was laxed. Two things I didn't understand; Aang and Katara's kids weren't badass. And Sokka didn't have any kids I believe.
And I can only watch it from Season 3 too. Never even attempted to watch from season 1 again cause I'd probably get bored.

I definitely liked ATLA better than LoK. The plot was consistent and fleshed out, and each individual character was completely different from the others.
Also, do not watch LoK for the yuri. It's subtext at most (though I love Korrsami) so if you are expecting a lot of cute yuri scenes you will probably be disappointed.

I knew it will happen. I know ATLA is worshiped. I liked the show, but I was surprised myself that after watching LOK I though I liked it better. It's just my opinion. I can argue but I won't do it here.

Actually it's not. The writers said as much.
You can't just quote here. You have to post it in image page or else it will be see only here. Also I know they are cannon, but I agree. In show there are 2 subtext scene max. If you want to watch LOK for yuri then you will be disappointed.

Feel yah. For one I just hate Korra in first 2 seasons. One of the most selfish and idiotic MCs I ever met, especially in season 1. Don't even get me started on dumb love triangle -_-
While I feel bad for shit that happened to Korra in season 3 and end of season 2, it was extremely beneficial for her. She finally started to use brain.
Lightning was extremely under used. Mako shot Amon from face to face distance and he got up and kicked their asses again. Blood bending or not, that was pathetic considering that Amon was defenceless and unprepared. Not to mention that Azula killed Aang with it while standing far away. Talk about degradation.

Do not worship it but LoK does not even hold a candle to ATLA. Azula and Zuko, and whole Fire family dynamic alone, are 100 times better than everything that LoK had offered. Non of Lok battles even come close to Azula's and Zuko's showdown, not even close to Aang and Ozai's battle. So yeh I'll leave it at that too or I can keep this up for hours.

LoK story line lasted over 3-4 years and each season focused on different things, ATLA on the other hand had one main story that lasted several months, maybe a year. However, while LoK had tons of themes, non was properly developed and characters and story suffered from it. ATLA had one but explored it from every direction and flashed out every main and important character.
But yeh don't wanna turn it into flaming thread either, I just had to list those things to explain where I stand. I'll try not to say anything else on this topic here.

Spirit-whatever it is the water tribe celebrates that looks like Tanabata but on midwinter. Thats their christmas.

@anubis it can go either way. we have no idea how far they took their relationship in the spirit world. but i would like it if they just started had dating and havent kissed yet since i like the idea have them taking it slow since they rushed into liking mako and we all know how that ended up

Well this is how creators stated it. Them walking into portal represents starting of their relationship. So comics will probably cover everything after said relationship started like kissing and... holding hands!

Just finished season 3. It was interesting, but I didnt really like it as much as season 2. The ludicrous air fight in the finale was a bit too much. There was several times when the mad airbender should have been killed by the flying mountains Korra hit him with... And poor Jinora getting shaved lol.
oh and that impractical city made of metal as well as all the furniture. It would roast everyone in the summer and freeze them in the winter, as well as being uncomfortable.

Series finished! #4 was pretty good... the whole platinum thing was a little hard to believe, and the giant robot made of it even harder, but otherwise good. And the sweet yuri moment at end was lovely.
