^^ I’ve always seen black hair rolled into the brunette category, since it’s usually just a dark shade of brown. I know some people use the term “ravenette” to refer the black hair, but the only (natural) hair-color categories I’ve ever seen used in common parlance are brunette, blonde, and red head.

^ Yeah, but the hair colors in most anime, including "Love Live!", were never meant to be realistic. Since Japanese hair color is so uniform (some schools literally make them dye it a particular shade), they indulge in crazy shades in fiction. Hence Rina's bubblegum color, and Umi's dark bluish, definitely non-brunette shade.

I was just making a joke lol how did this turn into a debate on hair color? But my reason for calling her a brunette is because that's the term that I was taught to use for black hair. Maybe it's a difference in how all of us have learned english but you guys get the idea, Rina ain't sparing no one

Rina's always been very into Umi. Umi's SIFAS bond stories included a sequence where Rina tried to get Umi to take her as an apprentice — including the line, "If I can't call you master, can I at least call you Onee-sama?" — and the Daily Theatre episodes include http://sifasdt.waxwolf.com/?date=2021-04-29 .
