@Aquwin I agree it wasnt really that tangled- (though you did leave out Asami from the triangle they were first in)
but I also agree with Bean that I wish this is what happened- i.e Korra fell for Asami a lot earlier and they coulda been a couple during the actual show rather than just right at the end.

^it's a part of the emotional journey she when through with him. And think about it like this it was her first love which is why she focused on him so much. After he broke the delusions first love had on her she was able to move on. And start something with someone who was better for her.

Bryke admitted they didn't plan Korra x Asami from the start, but I still think they had good development for the little time they got for it. I wonder if it would've been even better if they planned it from the start.
But then again, it was a time when openly LGBT couples in kid's shows were still a new thing, so maybe it wouldn't have been too different.
