Sakurako looks up to Akari and is one of the only two people in the whole series - anime or manga - who always notices Akari, appreciates her, and never insults her for her lack of presence. The other is her older sister Akane. If Himawari got fed up with Sakurako, Akari would be a good back-up girlfriend. And Akari's only other serious prospect is Chinatsu. Himawari may be a femme bombshell but if Sakurako cut her hair like Nadeshiko she'd be a good prince for Akari.This is a very possible pair. All of Akari's possible girlfriends have one already, admittedly, sort of - Sachan has Himako, Akane has Chinatsu's sister, and Chinatsu has Yui, but of the three Sakurako would probably make the best couple with her.

I agree with the above statement. Though it's more of because she likes Akari the most since Akari's nice with her, and not due to too high of a form of respect. Even so, she treats Akari fairly without being too much out of character. The only thing I don't agree on is that all the pairings mentioned are highly unlikely. (I don't know who Sachan is though. What? I'm not too deep into the series and I admit it.) While Chinatsu's sister whom I do not recall the name of... 'admires' Akane in that way, our favourite Siscon is too far deep in lusting her sweet sweet Akari that Chinatsu's sister probably doesn't even have a single chance. The same goes for Chinatsu and Yui. Chinatsu may have feelings for Yui but the older girl returning said affection is highly unlikely. Plus, there was that foreshadowing where Yui has too much of a strong bond with Kyouko that nobody can possibly interfere. Heck, even the Vice President (was Ayano her name?) has more of a chance with Yui due to their similar sense of humour and them being the bunt of Kyouko's jokes. While all the pairings seem possible, Akari would be the best choice for all of them.
Now back to Sakurako, she seems the most likely to create a meaningful relationship with Akari. Said relationship being romantic or platonic, I would rather not say. Sakurako likes Akari. Akari likes practically everybody. The two of them can treat each other the way they're meant to be treated. Akari can tolerate Sakurako and pamper her while Sakurako would treat Akari with respect, and PRANKS. <One of the reasons I see them more of a BroTP than anything. (The most likely to treat Akari right is Akane. "But they're sisters!", I hear you cry. Hey, I shipped Satsuki with Ryouko and nobody bat an eye.)
In an end note, Sakurako and Akari may seem the most interesting, but they each have one choice better than the other. But hey, they would probably make the best of friends. (Chinatsu practically ignores Akari most of the time. Akane would probably pounce on our innocent protagonist(?). Himawari and Sakurako can't stand five minutes without tearing each others' throats off.)

AshuraX can't quote you sadly.. but to asnwer your question, yeah, Sachan is Sakurako and Himako is Himawari. You can google Omuro Nadeshiko, Sakurako's older sister for the nickname

Himawari and Sakurako can't stand five minutes without tearing each others' throats off.
And yet those two spend most of their time together, be it at school or out of it, Himawari keep helping Sakurako with her homework, whenever she cook some snacks she set some aside for Sakurako with some special wrapping and on occasion, even Sakurako will be nice or helpfull to Himawari (though she's usually on the receiving hand). Also, they filled a marriage registration form when they were kids and even though they apparently forgot about it, they still remember the reasons behind it.
Those two are extreme tsundere toward each other, but on the rare occasion where they actually fight for real, they usually feels bad about it right away.
If they really couldn't stand each other, they would avoid meeting out of class and council duties.

I think Akari goes well with anyone from Yuru Yuri.. She gets along with everyone so well but she has no presence within her school friends but she surely does have a lot of presence when she's with Akane.. Akane must've taken away most of Akari's presence from her... Anyways.. I ship Akane X Tomoko or Akane X Akari!! This is so hard.. To ship >^<

they're really cute, i can't see them as a romantic couple, but they really do cherish each other... i like seeing sakurako as a pure person, so i rate this 10/10.
