This chapter ended nicely after Ibuki-chan fussing way too much on a really nice date. The chapter was great. I think this is what being young felt like.

kyaaa!! I love this series so far...it's super cute, but the dialogue is so unique! plus Hanaoka-san has a certain quality, like mature but mischievous? I dunno, I just wanna keep reading this story ^_^

So much cuteness coming from both of them. I like that the older one is far more care free and that the younger one is worrying so much. That'll help them find a common ground faster.

Yeah! Exactly!

I was a bit miffed at the way Ibuki let her fears of losing Hanaoka prevent her from accepting her. But it is understandable. The facial expressions are very well done in that section. (When Hanaoka is walking away to cross the bridge on her own, she looks heartbroken...)

Honestly had to refresh my memory by reading part of the previous chapter. Still great though. Also found this chapter surprisingly funny.

Me too!

I can't wait for more!

I actually found the whole rundown of yuri tropes as a reason she can't be with Hanaoka a bit out of character, based on how she's been so far. She doesn't seem like the sort to confuse fantasy and reality that way. I guess it's possible to justify that this is an excuse because she's afraid of being in a romantic relationship, but even that feels like stretching it a lot.

What I really did like was how her thinking shifted to the concerns of being part of a couple when the issue of food came up. She's considering how to take her lover's tastes and needs into account when they're together, and what compromises they need to remain together. That's really relatable to me.

Ibuki's been shown to be very aware and considerate of long-term life planning (her talking about her post-graduation plans during their first date) and have a very active imagination (her getting anxious in the hotel afterwards), so I found it to be a feasible extension of those two characteristics.

Part of it does feel like an author tract on the yuri and romance genres, but it's brief and I agree with the point, so I can't bring myself to criticize it.

If she hadn't pulled out of it she would have deserved an Idiot tag. That said, good on the older one for riding it out.

If this were a Takemiya Jin manga, "Are you some kind of idiot?" would have literally been Hanaoka's next line.

this is what I've been missing in my yuri manga. I just can't relate to high school yuri anymore. This story feels really mature and I like the jab they took on manga tropes too lol. What I'm saying is there's a quality to this story and it feels mature yet playful at the same time.

Don't worry about it, just embrace the yuri!

Which is, of course, why Takemiya Jin rules. Her heroines deal with a puzzlingly irrational world. :)

Nice chapter even though the art is a bit 'off', especially if compare to the earlier chapters.

I love this story. I always find myself rereading all the chapters "just because" and I cannot wait until the next chapter comes out. Here's to hoping Ibuki-chan and Hanaoka-san take another step towards coupledom.
