I relate so much to the part about her parents. I don't know is it because of my culture or not but my family doesn't believe in seeing a psychologist/ therapist. I'm scared that I might have depression or something along the line but when I talk to my family, they said I'm being stupid. It's so scary reading this I feel like crying. I hope the author is okay .

I've always sorta half assed told myself that with time, I'd probs be okay, but this makes me wonder if I'll still be the way I am now in 10 years, if I might actually feel worse, that as I get older, time feels like it's running out, that I'm wasting my life.

This is so hard to read. While I've never been in that situation, I can relate very well to it, and for some reason the only thing I was thinking was "goddammit people, lend that poor girl a hand." and "Girl, don't be stupid"

The only consolation here is the idea that if she's publishing this, she's finally aware of her situation and doing her best to overcome it.

this is actually comforting to read, in a way.
not because the situations good, obviously, but in a "i wasnt completely alone" kindve way.
i think this was based heavily on the mangakas life??
a thank you to them for putting this out there

The author was actually amazing. From what her story was I know how much she was struggling over her depression. I hope when she make this piece she's becoming better n can overcome her mental illness.

N hey she was amazing since she can elaborated really well about her condition n understand her current situation. The information she shared through this manga may opened someone eyes about the seriousness of mental illness n not take easy about it.

She need someone to accept her (to be understanding of her depression n situation) n fulfill her loneliness. N that's how this title was born haha

it was a bad choice to read kashmir before this ...

it's easy to relate to the protagonist, very often depression starts from "simple" insecurity or lack of self-esteem and respect, not from being bullied at school or from familiar problems; if you don't care about yourself, having a caring family or pityng friends is the worst.
this made me remember a spendid sentence of a writer a love, david wallace, about suicide (and now i have to re-read kashmir to clean the aftertaste, but thanks the same for this great manga)

I don't get how lesbians are related to this story yet, seems like it was kinda just shoved in there because of a whim

Honestly, if you or anyone you know acts like this, see a specialist.

Doesn't work for me. I've tried and don't want to ever go back there again. Besides it is easier said than done; with this personality you're more into thinking and not doing. Society often despises people like this and are offensive to people who simply don't have the courage to actually talk out to people about their own personal problems

Well, it is autobiographical. So...not really.

There may be a reason.

While we're at it, is the technical term "chapter 1" meaningful to you?

The artist is a lesbian and has a twatter apparently, so I visited it. Jesus, it looks like a feminist liberal arts gallery. She draws creepy lesbian porns all the time. She even sticked one of her drawings about suicide to her bloody tampons once. Looks like she also has a bit of pedophile tendencies and pampers fetish. Not mentioning her obsession with death and suicide. This cray cray bitch should be put on suicide watch.

Can't say I'm surprised that she ended up like that... But thinking of how she was in highschool, it makes me really sad, thanks for not giving away the link, I don't really want to see it but I would have seen it for morbosity or something.

Gotta say, I'm looking at the author's Twitter right now and I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that some rando on 4chan is full of shit, or at least hyperbolic to the point of uselessness.

Someone uses Twitter to work through serious personal issues, say it isn't so! Most of the current stuff is about the book, but it's clear she likes girls wearing boy-style underwear. Nothing too weird about that. And wait...someone on 4chan complaining about people having "a bit of pedophile tendencies", how does that even work?

the author's Twitter

As a fan of both yuri and guro,I can totally approve that, and some of her works imo are on par with Shintaro Kago's,which can be describe as rare unpolished gems.

I checked her twitter too and well, I can't read japanese but I find her art and what she draws really interesting. You can feel what she's going / she's been through, it's gloomy but not creepy.. I won't even comment what the dude from 4chan said, just wish ppl like this would disappear.

That said, why would the non-moe artnot fit here ? As beautiful as her art is, it is clearly unusual and quite unique.
