For all the teasing Maki gets for not being honest with her feelings/intentions/whatever, Nico isn't exactly being up front either. Still, they both get what they want out of it, and it's adorable.

I headcanon that Maki is less of a morning person than Nico. However, if Maki spent a good amount of time exhausting Nico before they fell asleep, then I can see her waking up earlier.
