@Thiron I know this is an ancient post lol but to have it on record in here - Alice was never a human. Her mother is the Goddess of Makai and just created herself a daughter.

She seems to be a human actually based on Perfect Memento of Strict Sense. It's one of those things a lot of people kinda ignore though, since it'd make some stuff a bit complicated (like how Alice and Shinki even be related at all in PC98, and stuff like that)

ReimuxRemilia started off pretty strong, but never quite developed into one of the big Touhou ships, despite there being a canonical hug between the two, which is more than can be said for 90% of other Touhou ships. I guess you can't really predict how this stuff shakes out.

I guess the human x youkai theme got overlap a lot with the more popular Sakuya x Remilia

They fly a lot as tengu, so it probably doesn't matter that much. Plus, Aya has alternate costume for wandering around in the Human village.

So is the mini-Saigyou Ayakashi is destroyed before that? I don't understand the full story here
