iirc pito also criticized the one previously uploaded on here. It was a conversation between Nyan's TL and Pito on Twitter. Whatever was pointed out by other people here was a third version of the images. But maybe I'm wrong.

As soon as I read that you're using lesbian porn as part of your reasoning, I've stopped taking you seriously. Completely.

I don't have anything to say because dpf will be sad, but I'll leave this here

Rude, but ok. You're not first one to ignore the correlation of market to society.
I don't see how the video even refutes anything though. Especially when it tells of fisting and deepthroating a shoe what?

If you don't realize how the video correlates to why I don't take you seriously from the porn comment, then I guess there is no point to further more posting. In any case, good luck with studying. I think you're going to need a lot more of that.

All of you need to read up more on cervix. Do your research and don't assume what your opinion or experiences are the same for every woman. The cervix actually moves throughout the month and there are quite a bit of research done on it mostly for fertility reasons.

The bottom line is, some women will feel good about the same thing some other will feel pain with. Some people enjoy pain and some don't.

I don't think Risa actually loved her ex boyfriend. She seemed to be nonchalant about not continuing the relationship with her ex. I think they didn't actually break up. It was more like a well we drift apart because of the distance and just didn't talk to each other again. I think she was in love with Yuuko at first but the reason she chose to ask Yuuko out wasn't the same. I think she did like Yuuko because she exhibited jealousy towards how popular Yuuko is in the beginning. But it was sort of like "well I need a boyfriend and if I asked Yuuko out not only is she boyish, I don't have to worry about her fan girls." I also think the whole "if I didn't call you -chan then I wouldn't see you as a girl anymore." was part of Risa trying to be honest after realizing that they were both making assumptions of each other. The very fact that Risa says it out loud after being asked the second time feels to me signals that she's finally had a realization. She's finally realized that the fact she chose Yuuko wasn't simply because of her boyish look or the fact that Risa herself needed to have someone there. If you look back on the first time Yuuko brought this up, Risa didn't give a clear answer. That kind of shows Risa either knowing or unknowingly not wanting Yuuko to know that she didnt want to see her as an actual boy. And at the end where Risa brings up the fact that Yuuko needs to look more feminine for her to consider Yuuko as a girl isn't really just gender normative dialogue. I feel like Risa was trying to convey the sentiment that Yuuko can be a girl and trying to explain to Yuuko that the boyish thing was a first impression based on her appearance. Then Risa even said that Yuuko has really good style so with just a little bit of help she was going to become a girly girl, something Yuuko wanted. Yuuko wanted to be seen like a girl to Risa and Risa didn't have any rejection over the idea.

Maybe I'm seeing this in a brighter light than other people. I personally thought despite the somewhat cringe worthy lines in the middle, there is a good message at the end. I've never been confused about any part of this since I was actually able to relate to both of Risa and Yuuko at some level. It reminded me a lot of my own struggles both internally and externally.

Risa never once forced Yuuko to do anything. Yuuko made an assumption that Risa is into her because she looked tomboy and they can appear to be hetero in public. Yuuko even asked to break up with Risa because she can't continue to look tomboy like for Risa. Risa on the other end made an assumption that Yuuko enjoys dressing up this way and doesn't mind to be viewed as a boy because she's been looking the part already. Risa was wanting a boyfriend in the beginning of the story, and then realized she's okay with Yuuko being a girl. She realized that she is in love with Yuuko even if she's not a boy. She even encouraged Yuuko to look as girly as Yuuko wanted.

It's not "I want you to be a boy so we can go out." It's actually "I wanted a boyfriend so I picked you because you looked boyish. But now I realized that I am actually in love with you and I don't mind if you actually wanted to look like a girl."

They're like 14 years old, they would pretty much had to pretend to be hetero while out in public wanting to get couple's service anyways.

Okay once again, I'm going to explain why this story isn't promoting gender normative ideas.
Here are some things to consider:

  • Risa didn't ask Yuuko out because she's in love with her. She only did that because she needed a replacement for her exBOYfriend.
  • Yuuko did not want to be a tomboy but goes along with it because she thought that's what Risa wanted.
  • Risa never once told Yuuko that she had to look a certain way. She only made an assumption that Yuuko enjoyed being a tomboy so naturally Yuuko should look the boy part for the cafe.
  • Risa actually admitted to not wanting to see Yuuko as a boy.
  • Risa did not realize her feelings for Yuuko until Yuuko made a comment about wanting to look like a girl but knowing Risa is looking for someone who look like a boy. Therefore, Yuuko did not think she could stay in a relationship with Risa.
  • Risa actually offered to help Yuuko to look more feminine not because that's what RIsa wanted, but it's what Yuuko wanted.

You have to realize this story is about Risa coming to the realization that Yuuko is a girl and that she's in love with Yuuko. The only gender normative stuff in this story is simply from the society around them. If anything I'd say this story promotes the opposite as evidently they both were in dresses at the end blatantly asking for couple's service in public. So what you are essentially missing from this story is Risa is in love with Yuuko no matter what she looked like. Risa is okay with whatever Yuuko wants to look like because she's in love with her and Yuuko is also returning the feelings. They had a misunderstanding stemming from miscommunication, and Risa took the first step to be honest with Yuuko. Admitting that she was using Yuuko as a replacement for an ex Boyfriend, and at the same time admitting that she wants to stay with Yuuko. She loves Yuuko even if she is a girl, or wants to dress femininely. I mean for god's sake, she was out and about asking for couple's service with the both of them dressing up in short skirts.

Look to the bright side, don't be super sjw on this.

I think you guys are missing something really important here. Yuuko didn't want to be a tomboy. She didn't explicitly say that she wanted to be one. In fact, I'd say that she wanted to be more feminine as evidently she wanted to wear the same hairband Risa wanted.

I think this story is more about how Risa comes to the realization that she's actually really falling in love, with a girl too. She didn't ask Yuuko out because she knew she loved her. She simply asked Yuuko out because she didn't want to be single. And when Yuuko is talking about how she wants to be girly, Risa realized that she'd been seeing Yuuko as a replacement of her ex boyfriend all along. But at the same time she realized that she wants to stay with Risa, so she was being completely honest with Yuuko. I feel like you guys jumped the gun and went SJW on this too fast. This is about Risa coming to realization that she's in fact in love with Yuuko, who is a girl. The whole dressing up part was in response of Yuuko wanting to be more girly. There is no correlation as to Risa's feeling for Yuuko as a whole.

First of all, I think I forgot to mention the fact that my rant wasn't directed at you specifically. If that's what I came off as, I'd like to apologize. Personally regarding the issue of learning curve, I've always tried my best to help people learn. I've had quite a lot of people asking me questions and needed help. I don't ever turn them down. I may not be the nicest person when I'm criticizing other people, but I assure you that most of the time when I'm harsh and criticizing someone, I have tried helping them in one way or another before. If I'm still actively scanlating and someone using MS Paint coming to me and asking if they could join my group I probably would have turned them down, but at the same time offer help. I'm sure even dpf can attest to this as I've extended help to even parnifia via IRC. The mentality of "oh I don't think anyone would help me" is not really beneficial. I think my point is we should promote learning and improving. I know a lot of people I interact with on a daily basis are more than willing to talk about scanlating and getting even themselves better. Shima from GiB is an example of this. She's a great scanlatior and I look up to as well as greatly admire her work. Not only does she produce great work, but we oftenly used to discuss translations and typesetting of our releases. Even though she's a seasoned scanlator sometimes she still end up learning something new via our interactions. That's something I'd really really like to see happening with all of us scanlating groups. I mean hell, I barely learned how to clean properly maybe at the beginning of last year!

As for the issue of fawning. I'm not against it. I'm just trying to suggest that we should look at the releases more than just glancing through and go straight to praising. I've noticed that a few more people have been getting vocal about the releases on DS and actively trying to help out by pointing out some things here and there. Although they may not be always right, I really do think that's a step to the right direction and I hope that it'll become a trend and carry on from now on.

P.S. I know some people are not native English speakers, but some of us are and frankly speaking there are some stuff I've read here recently that literally don't even make sense in English. It's painfully obvious that nobody even bothered to go through the dialogues before releasing.

I don't know the intention of other people getting into scanlating. I just know that for me, it's a desire to show other people how great the things I'm scanlating are. In that sense, I personally hate to put in less than full effort to scanlate. In any case, I hate sloppy work and I hate seeing things I like being scanlated in a half assed way. I get angry and probably rude and mean about it. That happens, and though I do feel sorry afterwards, I can't help but react that way every time. (⌒-⌒; )

Dpf just because I don't tell you everything wrong with everything I read doesn't mean there's no problems. The particular few I focus on because they're working on artists/fandoms I'm into. lol Of course I'm not making perfect releases but the majority of what I've seen so far have a lot of common issues that can be fixed with a little bit more effort and maybe actual qcing. And I understand that we are not getting paid to do this, but to me it's the difference between doing it to get popularity and doing it because you want to improve/sharing the love.

And I do really admit that there was a time where popularity did get into my head for a while. I've learned a lot from those times and moved on though. The bottom line for me is I want to see scanlators put effort into what they do and value quality over quantity. The yuri community as a whole could benefit from more than just "I LOVE THIS TEEHEEE!!!"

I would argue that we have too many groups and no quality. But then again, nobody cares about quality when they can't read Japanese or have the "AT LEAST WE HAVE SOMETHING TO READ!" mentality. :D

Page 19, panel 4, bubble 1 - 'officially taking it (to) court now', the 'to' is missing, unless it's a phrase I haven't heard before.

Whoops...oh well. I also noticed my dyslexic typing of NHFH in the credits...I do that almost every time I type it and that's the first time I didn't catch it.

Apparently we confused you as well. The person you worked with was Machigai Anon. I had no part in this lol sorry for being confusing since we shared an email. ><
