Apparently it was hacked "for fun" by a bunch of admins from Horrible Subs. Who even thought it to be funny to release user information, etc. After a longer streak of troubles like paypal freezing donations for the site and such - the owner of the site finally gave up. He gave file access to 3 users for them to safe all the stuff before finally closing everything for good. Each of those users have their own goals what to do with that stuff. Like at least bundling everything which was released up till now in a torrent. And one plans to create a similar site. (but who knows if that ever comes to fruit)

I hope I'm not the only one that thinks that the yuri tag almost always mean a sub-par manga when it's not plain awful.
TL;DR Yuri genre is sub-par most of the time. This is one is so bad the only attention it receives comes from ppl that would read anything with the yuri tag.

Have to disagree on that point. I don't see much differences to other genres on terms of quality. Take any other genre and you get an equal ratio of good titles vs bad and even equaly inummerable short-manga and oneshots. It's just that compared the overall quantity in the yuri-genre is quite low. In other genres the scanlators can actually cherry-pick and most of the small titles or those of questionable quality don't even reach the readers awareness.

So he makes a big production out of how he doesn't call her Imoko any more, then the moment someone else walks in he calls her Imoko.

Exactly the same as in the beginning where he made her cry and "apologized" - promised not call her Imoko anymore but promptly continues to do so. Classic.

But I have to say it is a fascinating series - after each and every chapter I find myself wondering if I maybe have masochistic tendencies. I just can't keep my hands off whenever a new one is released. It's like watching a severe car accident - not being able to look away.

True - KnJ was a great read. I just can't seem to understand those people who immediately go all defensive if something approaches a topic they feel uncomfortable about or which they consider taboo - stick a label at it and trash it without even giving it a chance.

I won't deny that KnJ has some fanservice and I know some will take offence at it, but it never actually crosses that line and all in all it is more of a drama focussing on the issues and problems each of the characters has to face. Especially in later chapters I even welcomed the fanservice and the bickering as a breather from all the drama.^^

So give it a chance!

I am struggling a little - I have already read the translated version done by the other groups and I am not sure if I should reread it now that yuriproject does it's own version. It was a quite intense read in the first place but left such an uncomfortable feeling. Does yuriproject's translation differ much from the one we already have?

Yeah I really liked Secret Stream and the Beginning of Summer. As far as I see the last oneshot of that collection was never translated, was it? Too bad.

Sorry if that question annoys you - but after the recent chapters for me it was just the first thing that sprung to mind. It's like the story purposely tries to fail the Bechdel Test. And as for me I consider that bad writing - even more considering this ought to be a yuri story, where I would expect them to at least have one or two dialogues without them reverting back to the topic of Keita-senpai.

Just read chapters 4-7 and I keep wondering: Is this really a yuri series?

Because all chapters until now are about that Keita guy. The main characters are the girls but he seems to be the focal point of the story - the only topic in all their conversations. Keita-senpai this, Keita-senpai that.

Maybe I am too impatient but to me it is a little vexing.
