It's a mechanic. Nier did something similar.

I find it hard to trust reviews in the last few years both users and professional.

So, has anyone played Andromeda and have a personal opinion? I was looking forward to it but I've been burned by Bioware enough that I'm definitely not gonna pull the trigger until the review situation shakes out.

Played like 2-3 hours today. In all honesty as a diehard bioware fan: It's decent so far, it feels a tiny bit like the first mass effect, kind of like a first in a trilogy, sure the animation is wonky at some parts but there are scenes that are more important where the animation sits right. CC is a bit worse but honestly, exactly like the other mass effect games aswell so I'm surprised that there are so many complaints, atleast you have more than 3 hair colors now plus scars, tattoos and make up.

Gameplay is fun, basically the same dynamic as ME3, I enjoy it so far. They brought back lots of aspects like mods from ME1. World exploration is more active, faster, more fun if you ask me.

Andromeda is a new chapter for Mass Effect and it shows, I think so far its promising and I'm excited to get home from work tomorrow and play more because I am already hooked.

About romances: Haven't gotten to it, hope it's not awkward, since some of the dialogue has been... not sure how to say it... stiff? weird? But thankfully not all of it.

I only trust AngryJoe and Easy Reviews when it comes to games.

Goodbye my Nier Automata save file... It is with much pain that i depart from you, but also with great pride!

I guess that was one way to make the player pay more attention to the credits.

Also, toukiden 2 got released yesterday. I recommend it, if you like monster hunter kind of games, it's good stuff.

How much fps does Nier gives on your pc?

Funny you ask whoever the question was directed to 'cause i just finished testing a new fix made fresh off the oven, i was averaging between 30~40 fps on a 1366x768 resolution, with drops to 20 at some problematic areas. With the new fix however i'm getting some good 50~60 fps, stuff of miracle right here
Still have to get to some of the most problematic areas of the open world though, since i'm on a new save and all...

Got a GTX 750ti btw

Driver "fixes" are pretty important to download if you have an Nvidia card.

I see.

Installing new drivers softwares also helps. The games previously ran at 24-30fps on my laptop rans at 50-60 fps.

That's pretty close to mine.

Game ran pretty smoothly at 60 fps at 1080p, although I had to use borderless window since running it at fullscreen caused it to render at 900p, which is what I meant when I said it looks like the PS4 version when I played it at fullscreen. Game looks much better on PC compared to what I've played of the PS4 demo.

The problem is the 750 Ti is unsupported.

The engine has some inherit problems too so you will get stutter even when running smoothly at 60fps.

Then there are other fun things like LOADING MAP and you have to quit the game. Luckily I only lost 5 minutes of progress when that happened.

Oh i saw a comparison b/w Ps4 Pro and PC. And quite honestly Ps4 was giving a better performance with same graphics.

With that said, I still think there's no way Nier would need so much from the gpu. I've seen better textures from games that are 2 years old and Nier has a bad case of low draw distance and fairly frequent texture pop-ins.

It's going to depend on the PC on what performance you will get. I'm using a i7-4700k and a 980 Ti and it runs pretty much like how the video says.

Platinum hasn't done the best PC ports so you need hardware to compensate.

You think it will work good at 960m?

It's all about GPU optimisation from what i understand. Don't really know the technical details but they do release new drivers for new games and somehow they run better.

If you experience any slowdowns, best to lower or turn off anti-aliasing completely. I think it uses some form of MSAA that's fairly intensive on older GPUs.

I say to turn down AA also because I don't really like what the shadows look like at anything lower than high and I didn't even bother to lower the "effects". I wish they'd just stop using such vague terms and break it down to the technical aspect for better customization.

I don't remember installing any drivers made to specifically optimize Nier though. The latest Geforce Game Ready driver is for Mass Effect: Andromeda and Rock Band VR.
