redemption-arc? lets not go overboard. Mikawa has done nothing that needs any "redemption"

She basically teased her friend, and that's about it. I think she can be forgiven that much.

Kase's jealousy was a nice touch.

Also, to mention that Kase mentioned wanting to help Yamada move twice, that she insisted. Perhaps she's been feeling distant a bit, that Yamada would choose to move by herself and run to Mikawacchi when graduating. Takashima definitely put it in for a reason~

Why does Yamada say "Thank you, Kase-san" at the end of the comic? I can't figure out what Kase-san is supposed to have done or said to prompt that.

Isn't that quite obvious?
It's pretty much the same as for why Mikawa said "thank you Kase".
Mikawa herself explained it pretty well. "If I hadn't witnessed Yamada trying so hard to pass her exams I don't think I would've tried so hard myself."
The only reason Yamada did try so hard was because she wanted to stay together with Kase-san.
If not for her, Yamada would've just gone to that universal women's college back in her hometown and wouldn't have gotten to experience a new exciting life in Tokyo nor would she have gotten to go to a college that is all about her biggest interest. Well maybe second biggest interest if you count Kase...

I felt that it was more than just teasing and while not malicious, Mikawa was definitely being insensitive to Yamada's feelings by pressing the rumor. By doing so, Mikawa added to Yamada's well established insecurities and angst. At times I also feel Mikawa does not give Yamada much credit as a person. Even so, I think she does care quite a bit about Yamada and does act accordingly as times as well. I'm not sure about redemption, but for these reasons it makes me happy to see Mikawa making an effort to support Yamada and Kase.

If there is anyone or anything Kase should really be jealous of, it's Yamada's plant studies. >__> In fact, I am still waiting on the reveal that Yamada is an actual sentient plant, which is why she has a leaf growing out of her head and has no clue about human sexuality whatsoever...

I know i might be repeating myself....

But Yamada's expressions are the cutest i ever seen in any comic.

So innocent and cute.

I generally don't go around asking questions if the answer is already obvious to me.

General appreciation, for coming along with her.
She'll also continue speaking next chapter.

My best guess is that with how busy Kase is, Mikawa may have been the only one available at the time

Wasn't Kase already in Tokyo

Yes, but between classes and track for Kase and Yamada's own classes, they may not often get the chance to see each other.

What do you mean "yes, but"? (unless you think that Yamada and Mikawa are already living in Tokyo when they haven't gotten their acceptance letters yet?)
Because that's exactly it. Yamada getting the news -> in hometown
Mikawa -> in hometown
Kase-san -> in fucking Tokyo
Yamada definitely wouldn't have been able to share the news with Kase in person.
"Mikawa may have been the only one available at the time"
Well yeah. Between Kase and Mikawa, the latter's legit the only one in town. Yamada and Mikawa are def close friends, but in this situation, Mikawa was the only one she could run to [in tears] anyway
Unless I'm misunderstood what you meant, I'm just saying that that part of your guess doesn't hold up, or was oddly phrased :0

Wow, I may have made an error, but you really do not need to get belligerent about it. I remembered incorrectly, that's all. The only point I was making was that the reason I did not think much of Kase being jealous, was due to Yamada having no ulterior motives for seeing Mikawa.

Not really, but my bad if it seemed like so to you :/ Just wasn't sure to what extent did I have to clarify what I meant, to have the very first point be properly understood.

Please be real, a fluffy yuri romance anime where they acknowledge the fact they are dating is long overdue.

It could be an OVA. Is there enough material for one cour anime series?

If KyoAni can stretch a single chapter of Maid Dragon into a whole episode then I don't doubt a studio could do the same for Kase-san.

I'd say there definitely is. The story is paced well enough that you could probably cover about two chapters per episode, so a one-cour series could easily cover the first three volumes.
